We went back into time, a rural pub, with old-fashioned rooms but comfy beds, and a very lovely dining/pub parlour, in a village still unspoilt with its beautiful saltmarshes and shingle beaches. Ronan and Alan are the Harnser, they make it what it is, friendly and comfortable, a haven of social mixity and chat, excellent food and excellent breakfast. Well positioned building in pretty village with parking. We were made very welcome by the hosts and their dogs.A great base for roaming North Norfolk . The hosts Ronan and Alan were fabulous, friendly and funny, they provided delicious breakfasts and lovely home cooked food
The food and service was fantastic and the hosts are the most wonderful pair you'll meet. Very welcoming and a hoot. The location of the property is great for the village and for walking your dog, also their accomodating nature for animals is unrivalled to any other place we've stayed, and they have their own pair of wonderful dogs that love a scruff.
Cley must be one of the most beautiful villages in England and the Harnser ideally placed in the centre of the village. Easy access to the beach along well maintained boardwalks and paths makes it a great location for families and birdwatchers, dogwalkers. The village has several great places to eat and is a delight to explore. The Harnser has been fully refurbished downstairs, the hosts are just lovely people. So welcoming and the food and wine are excellent. Really happy to have chosen this as a place to stay.
An overall excellent experience... Cley-Next-The-Sea was unknown to us before, but we loved its situation and general village feel. If you have a dog, or just like wander, the walks direct from the front door of The Harnser are wonderful.
Ronan (one of the owners) loves to talk & mingle with the guests/visitors and was a joy to interact with... He was certainly the 'host with the most'... Food was excellent as was the drink and cake at the bar! :-)
Superb location by Cley Marshes where I went birdwatching for the day. Lovely cosy room with view to the windmill, on a quiet village road. Owner is very good-humoured, lovely dogs, and food was excellent and wholesome.
Lovely new accommodation tastefully furnished and decorated. The pub is very atmospheric. Delightfully situated in a semi rural location a 10 minute walk from the busy village centre. Very peaceful. A very warm welcome and friendly staff.
