We had an exceptional stay at the Contended Cottage during our London visit. Kirsty is a terrific host and has created a perfect experience for families visiting London. The cottage is tastefully decorated with all mod cons and amenities provided along with super comfy beds. It’s located in a safe village-like town a short walk to Buckhurst Hill train station, which is on the Central Line giving easy access to central London. There’s ample on-street parking and a visitor permit was kindly provided for the duration of our stay. The supermarket, eateries and boutique shops are also a stone’s throw away and a traditional pub sits on the corner. Knighton Wood is next door where there’s a children’s playground and a beautiful forest for the kids to explore. Strongly recommend!!

We walked in and was hit with the wow factor. Although the images look nice it is so much nicer in person. The candle lights were turned on for our arrival and the welcome pack was a wonderful gesture.
The barn was immaculate! In all areas. The smell of the towels was amazing too I need to know what they use haha.
I also need to contact the owner to ask what duvets they had as I forgot to look. It was probably one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.
The hot tub is such an added bonus to this already beautiful barn. The girls had a lovely time and I would definitely stay again. Thank you so much x

Great place to stay for our family of 5! Very clean and comfortable. Having 2.5 bathrooms was a bonus. Fast wifi and nice to have some outdoor space in the backyard. Close to bus and train station (overground). Would definitely stay again!

Bed was very comfy and clean. Hotel was very big and had lots of workshops and rooms you could do (if they had spaces left, as we booked last minute there was no space left). Handy location to get into north london for a concert we went to. Lovely grounds, fresh produce and farm animals to see around the grounds. I would return with friends and plan ahead to do workshops in the future. If some parts were renovated a bit it could be a much more luxurious feeling place.
