About Pigeon Forge

Including tips for the best time to visit Pigeon Forge

Tennessee’s mountain resort city, Pigeon Forge, is like a scene out of a retro movie filled with adventure, entertainment and music. You’ll find the unfiltered Appalachian scenery and deep-seated Southern culture come together to give you an exciting mix of travel experiences.

The city calls upon hikers, bikers and campers with its proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The mountains, locally known as ‘The Smokies’, are carved with over a thousand-kilometres of hiking trails, some of which lead to swimming holes that you can plunge into. You can also canoe down the Little Pigeon Forge River or spend a night under the stars at its sprawling campgrounds.

Entertainment comes in spades in this southeastern city of the United States and a testimony to that are its array of revues and dinner theatres. You can catch a live performance at the Grand Majestic Theater or the Country Tonite Theatre. For an evening of good-humoured chuckles in Pigeon Forge, head to the Comedy Barn or Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show.

This American city is dotted with sprawling theme parks and smaller adventure parks. You can buckle up for a rip-roaring ride at Dollywood and fire up your country spirit with Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction. To enjoy views of the city from a 200-foot-high observation wheel, make your way to The Island in Pigeon Forge.

Terrible!

7 May 2024

Terrible! Gross floors. Broken door handle. Cockroaches! Dirty towels and sheets. Staff was MIA. Breakfast was a few granola bars and juice! Absolutely ruined our trip! Couldn’t even walk around without socks on or your feet would be completely sticky and black! Roaches in the bathroom. One towel in the room that had black stuff all over it. The indoor pool had some texture like stuff floating on top of the water… gross!!! People appear to be living there also! Staff was so unsure on everything asked! It was a complete waste of money and took so much joy away from my children while staying there!

Pigeon Forge is a wonderful place to stay.

2 May 2024

Pigeon Forge is a wonderful place to stay. You are close to Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Cades Cove and Sevierville. Has plenty to do and beautiful views. Has shows and amazing food. Fun for families or just couples young and old. Also plenty of shopping from the small Mom and Pop shops to Tangers Outlet. A wonderful peaceful place.

23 April 2024

Unfortunately, we arrived during a huge CAR SHOW & Pigeon Forge was JAMMED with cars & people! Terrible traffic jams and total gridlock downtown & on some side streets. Trolleys were either not running at all or stuck in the same traffic jams in the downtown area. We would definitely avoid any huge shows or large crowded activities in the future!! All parking & eating establishments were filled to capacity & then some. NEEDED: Some sort of TRAFFIC CONTROL during these huge events!! There were unmanageable gridlocks for the entire event! NEVER AGAIN.

Pigeon Forge has become my new (Go-To) destination!

19 April 2024

Pigeon Forge has become my new (Go-To) destination! Have been here 4 times in under a year and have two more trips planned for spring and summer! Originally my stay was centered around (Dollywood), but when you travel through Severe County and especially (Pigeon Forge), it's hard not to fall in love with this place! There is so much to do here that it never gets old, and I find myself wanting to explore more and more! Wish I lived closer, so I could visit more often! maybe one day I'll move here and be able to enjoy it all...all the time!
