About Xitun

Including tips for the best time to visit Xitun

Xitun is the second-most populated district of Taichung, located on the western side of the city. Once considered part of the countryside, Xitun has seen rapid growth recently and is now home to high rise buildings, bustling markets and cultural institutions.

Xitun is filled with plenty of exciting things to do and see on holiday. Check out the bustling Fengija Night Market to sample traditional Taiwanese street food and browse its sea of clothing stalls. It’s renowned as being one of the largest night markets in Taiwan and offers a great insight into the district’s lively atmosphere. Be sure to visit the Taichung Metropolitan Park too. Located at an altitude of about 300 metres, the huge park features leisure areas, native plants, an ecological pond and an observation area for stargazing. For some arts and culture, book yourself tickets to an opera show at the National Taichung Theatre. The talent inside is just as captivating as the quirky building itself, designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Another architectural feat worth seeing is the Luce Memorial Chapel on the Tunghai University campus. Designed by I. M. Pei and Chi-kuan Chen, this chapel is blessed with eye-catching curvy exterior and a diamondesque interior.

The location is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk to fengjia night market. The hotel is clean and the bed is just nice and soft, it would be excellent if provided 2 pillows each person and hotel provide free beverages too but you have to bring your own sugar. For me I will rate this hotel 7/10.

Good location to stay. Nearby a lot of stall and restaurant. Near to Fengjia night market by walking distance of 8 min. Good hotel staff. willing to help to arrange for private car to one day tour. No dislike for me.
