We managed to arrange a shuttle bus easily to pick us up from the train station to the hotel which was very convenient. Our rooms was very spacious with a nice view overlooking the river. Despite the temperature outside, our room was well heated and the futons we're very comfy! The outdoor onsen was spectacular! At check in you are given a towel covering to wear for the mixed outdoor onsen. I really enjoyed the fact that both me and my fiance could take a bath together in the forest. It's so rare to find this kind of onsen in Japan. There was also a women's only bath, but I didn't see it during my visit. I would recommend this type of hotel to anyone who is new to Japan and wants to experience an onsen hotel for the first time. The food was absolutely delicious and very traditional food. I especially enjoyed the evening meal courses with beef and vegetables. We were asked about allergies and food preferences at check in, which doesn't usually happen. The waiting staff and check in were cheerful and really tried their best to be helpful and could speak English when needed to. The onsen and our room view were definitely the highlights of our trip!

Onsen inside of the hotel was amazing. Resturant had amazing food for a good price. English menu also available Rooms were super spacious even for the single room. Beds were comfortable and had independent air-conditioning. Staff were super friendly and the guy that checked me in was able to assist with english which made it super easy to check in.
The staff was friendly and there was a Nepali woman at the front desk who spoke perfect English.the breakfast buffet was ok considering it was included in the price. Most everything is in Japanese. The room with tatami was great and spacious.the location is perfect too.
Everything but the location
We loved the family run set up and our very informative host. The place is old but very well maintained and clearly with a lot of history. The location is great too - not too far from the center but enough to be quiet. The private Onsen was very cute.
Friendly staff Clean rooms and great locations
Great location right at Takasaki station. Lovely helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. Clean and comfortable.
last minute booking, all of the hotel at kusatsu onsen are fully booked, I did not expect much. However the hotel end up quite good. Spacious room especially for the 3 bed room. The bed come with heated blanket. Free wifi but nowadays all hotel have free wifi. Good location, hotel located in between Bus station and yubatake (city center)
The location is very nice, not to far away from the center of Kusatsu Onsen. It is perfect for people travelling on a budget. The beds are quite confortable.
The staff were wonderful. The location was close to the bus station and not a long walk to the city centre. The private onsen was the best.
