The Priory 3 stars

Middleham

Featuring a garden and views of garden, The Priory is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Middleham, 24 km from Lightwater Valley Theme Park. This 3-star bed and breakfast offers a housekeeping service and bicycle parking. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. What can we say... A beautiful place to stay . The priory is obviously loved as Chris and Sarah have brought this home to life with an eclectic mix of old and new. Total luxury in the rooms with plenty of tea and coffee a fridge for guest use and a fabulous breakfast, being gluten free can make things a bit tricky but they made me feel like nothing was too much trouble and I even had delicious lemon gf biccys in the room. And Gf sausage and bread at breakfast. Sarah and Chris are really helpful and on hand to chat or ask directions or for local info and indeed info on the house, but also step back enough to give you privacy and quiet. The rooms are stunning and so comfy with delightful en suite bathroom with a view . Middleham itself is a lovely small little village, Leyburn being slightly busier and a really enjoyable morning walk round, with Ripping not too far away either. We will look forward to visiting again . Thank you Sarah and Chris for a really relaxing and luxurious weekend

Howdale 3 stars

Scarborough

With a location overlooking Scarborough’s North Bay, Howdale is a quiet, welcoming seaside guest house. Free parking is possible on site, and free WiFi is accessible at the property.

Rooms at Howdale are en suite with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Each room comes complete with WiFi, a flat-screen TV and a refreshment tray containing tea/coffee making facilities. There is a shared guest TV lounge for guests. Travelled here for a few nights and picked Howdale for it's great location Situated 2mins from all the North Bay attractions, and being elevated from the promenade means it has great views. Although on the upper road, all the paths to it are relatively gentle, and give easy access for pretty much anyone The B&B is set over 4 floors with only stairs access. Louisa gave us a phonecall in advance to let us know this, incase we had mobility issues, and to confirm that our twin room selection was correct, before she put final confirmation and took money for the booking. Our 4th floor twin room was fairly small but the beds were decent sized singles. The room was en-suite. Cozy and perfect for a comfortable night. A TV, free fast WiFi and plenty sockets in the room mean it is well suited to the modern requirements. Our rear facing room gave us great views over the town & beautiful countryside Breakfast is taken in a front facing room with great views towards the North Bay and Castle. Breakfast choice was good, full English, cereal, yogurt etc and plenty tea, coffee+ toast too. Louisa has obviously honed her skills well and runs a slick operation Louisa is also a very affable host, who makes you feel very welcome and will help you with all your needs. Lovely personality to chat to, and takes as much time as necessary to give you the info you require On our last day, after we booked out, we were not travelling until the afternoon so Louisa gave as a place to store our bags and an outside key that let us collect them when we were ready to move on. Howdale B&B has a character that is in keeping with a British seaside town. It retains the look of its era, but had been brought up to date to suit modern life requirements. Not a swanky London affair, but nice, immaculately clean, well presented and friendly. Perfect for a relaxing seaside stay. We will use Howdale again in the future
