Rooms were great, clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were very clean, hot water all the time. Breakfast was included in our package and every day had 5 different varieties. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Athena hotel. Having initially booked for 30 nights I subsequently extended for another ~2 weeks. The staff are wonderful. The location is not entirely convenient for the Ramana Ashram, which is ~45 minutes’ walk away or ~8 minutes by Autorickshaw (~150 Rs). The location has the advantages of being less noisy and polluted than being in the immediate vicinities of either the Ramana Ashram or the Arunachalesvara Temple. Girivalam Road is close by via a short access route that joins the road at the Niruthi Lingam.

I didn’t expect that for the amount of the money I paid I could get a better facility. They overcharged for a lodge. There is no proper facility. No towel and no toiletries and I have paid RS4500 for 2 nights. People need to consider for staying here at expensive room rates.

CS Arunachala residency is a convenient place to stay in Tiruvannamalai. The rooms were pretty decent and the service was very good. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very proactive in providing suggestions on things to do in that place. They went the extra mile to help us hire an auto for the trip. The hotel manager was courteous and provided his card to call back in case of any trouble. The breakfast provided at the place was pretty good. It tasted really nice and the cost was very nominal for the variety and taste. The temple is around 1.5Kms from this place and there were good restaurants around for lunch and dinner. Hotel staff would arrange for food delivery from both A2B and Ramakrishna Veg hotel (which are the 2 most famous hotels in the place). Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would certainly recommend this place to others.
