We love the bed, beddings, and pillow so much that we are going to buy some for ourselves. We love the spacious room, high ceiling. It is newly decorated and has a retro look. Clean. The location is great!

Located in Kirkwall, 2.7 km from Scapa Beach, The Orkney Hotel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. With free WiFi, this 3-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. The property is non-smoking and is situated 16 km from Maeshowe.

Orkney hotel is well situated in the heart of Kirkwall, right next to St. Magnus Cathedral and near to the town centre. Staff was warm, friendly and hospitable and even though the check-in was late at midnite, night manager was on guard to provide the keys and helped with the parking of car. The hotel as well as the selected King Room provided the vintage look, along with the artistic poster bed and other furniture. Netflix on a big screens tv in the evenings was good to relax , added by the jacuzzi in the the bath - the icing on the cake ! Breakfast was good though options were limited. Even we were given the small packed breakfast a night before the next day early checkout, which was very thoughtful gesture from the staff. Large selection of whisky at the hotel's bar was attractive. Overall, though pricey esp. in off season but a good stay to spend short time in Kirkwall.

West End Guest House is set in Kirkwall, 1.2 km from Highland Park Distillery. Free private parking is available onsite.

Certain rooms feature a seating area for your convenience. West End Guest House features free WiFi throughout the property. A flat-screen TV is offered.

No hesitation in thoroughly recommending this guest house. It has excellent staff who all do their jobs in a totally profesional manner, they are a source of lots of useful information about the weather, attractions, buses and even steer you clear of dangereous roads for walkers (traffic on Orkney can be ruthless!) The rooms may intially seem a little dated, but they are well equiped and a great place to get dry. There's an outstanding cooked breakfast which you pre order I found this prevented delays and hearing "we've got your order muddled" which I ecountered in another hotel whilst I was in Scotland. There's also a good range of cereals and fruit -a cornucopia has nothing on this place,

The Sanderlay Guest House offered good value for money. It’s not right in City Centre. So it didn’t cost a fortune. But it was close enough for our Rabbies tour van to be willing to drop us off & pick us up. It was only a £5 taxi ride to our dinner location. Our room was comfortable & clean. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious & efficiently delivered with their preset menu selection & breakfast time. Our host was very welcoming & had a great sense of humour. We would definitely go back there

Hotel has a perfect location around the Kirkwall harbour area, everything is a city centre is in a walking distance. Staff is located in a sister hotel where also happens check-in/check-out procedures. Unfortunatelly was able to stay only one night out of booked (and fully paid) two, cause of the "traditional reliability" of Loganair who cancelled the flight at the time of boarding.

Very relaxed check-in / check-out procedure. Personal and helpful. Absolutely LOVED the mini-frdge in the room. The location is a quick and beautiful walk into the city centre. Close to grocery store. We didn't use the kitchen or lounge as we were only there overnight, and got in very late, but they looked comfortable and well stocked.
