This northern Espoo spa hotel is 20 minutes' drive away form central Helsinki and Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Guests have free access to a sauna, steam bath, indoor swimming pool and gym. WiFi access and private parking are also free.

I had booked an airport hotel as my trip was very short and I didn't want to spend too much time commuting but when this property popped up on Booking.com with a Genius discount I thought, this is a must-see! A major selling point was the free sauna, convenient location in the town where I had my business meetings and the great reviews about the breakfast. Upon arrival at Backby I was transported to a fairy like destination. The landscaping, the buildings, the air that was pure and fresh. Everything felt magical. I slept soundly in the firm single bed and enjoyed a superb breakfast buffet the next day! Even more special the sun was out in all it glory on my second day so I was able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a view of the lush Finnish forest. I sat outside for two hours in the sunshine enjoying a three- course breakfast of fresh berries with yoghurt, bread and pastries with sausages, and specially made hot chocolate! This place makes me want to return to Finland!

    The apt was clean, comfortable for a family, and the location is perfect, 10 min by walk to a big shopping mall and metro (has access to Helsinki city center). The bus stop is also easily accessible and the other direction of the apt there are beautiful beaches (Matinkylä Beach, 5 min by walk).

    Location is a bit off city center but close to some companies and University. Nice location close to water. Sauna in the evening. Great breakfast Buffett ( make sure to ask for the omelette menu as it was „hidden“)

    The room is very big and the location is right next to the big shopping mall with supermarket. When we checked in, there is a night shift staff member who was very friendly. All in all this place is really nice and just short drive to Helsinki city centre. We definitely will come back to stay here again.

    Nice hotel with a very good price and location, but unfortunately it did not feel familiar to me at all. Further, sauna was only included only 2 hours per day, at the same time than the breakfast (very bad hours), and fire Place for cooking was also paid (20 euros). I would not recommend it if you go with your partner, that's a fact. However personnel was really nice!

    Splendid! Location is great (a get-away from the city centre on a small island), big parking area, the design of the hotel, very comfortable double bed, the best breakfast ( very diverse, for all tastes really), good sauna.

    The communication and flexibility of the owner was amazing. Also the appartment was super clean and felt homely. Several busstops around the corner We needed to be in Espoo for a birthday, so this location was great. I would not recommend this appartment if you need to be in the city centre, unless you have time to travel a bit more than usual. However in general I would recommend this appartment to anyone who likes a quiet comfortable stay

    Everything was OK. Very comfortable beds, impeccably clean, pet friendly, good location (quite near metro station and Aalto university, 15 min from the city centre by metro), modern environment (even food delivery robots moving around). Lots of small but nice things (cosmetics kit, warm floor in the shower etc). Besides, it was the cheapest option taking into account the distance from the city centre. Free parking in the yard.
