Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. WiFi is accessible at public areas for free, while the private-use hot spring bath is available at a surcharge. This ryokan was gorgeous and a place you can really experience Japanese "omotenashi", the service was exceptional. We pulled up in our car to be greeted by someone to welcome us, take our bags, and park the car. We were led into a beautiful waiting room to fill out our paperwork and were given fresh matcha and sweets. Then we were given a lovely tour and found our bags waiting for us in the room, which was massive and beautifully decorated. The onsen was lovely and the relaxation room had free massage chairs to enjoy. The whole ryokan is traditionally decorated and so fun to explore as it seemed there were new rooms and hallways everywhere. The breakfast, both Japanese and western were also delicious. I highly recommend this Ryokan for their stellar service and relaxing atmosphere.

We felt like we discovered a hidden gem! Our stay in Gujo was great, the place is very spacious, updated but very authentic, and comfortable. The hospitality and flexibility of the staff was amazing. The location was very convenient for exploring the town.

The property had all the necessary amenities and was of a good size.

With free private parking, the property is 45 km from Gero Station and 21 km from Meiho Ski Area. Very nice natural location. It's right next to a clear blue river. Hosts were very nice to us, gave us vegetables and fruit as a gift. House was nice clean and comfortable. Plenty of cooking appliances. Had a nice camp fire, saw stars at night. Excellent place for 20,000en. I'd go there again in the summer and swim in the river.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoy authentic Japanese style meals and hot spring. The family run this hotel with a lot of thoughtful care and hospitality. The traditional Japanese meals were authentic and served with fresh Hilda beef and local vegetables. As a hot spring lover, the hot spring were beyond expectation. There are private room and shared room for hot spring, and they all have great view of quiet forest. (It was snowy the day I came, and the experience of bathing hot spring in a snowy forest was superb.) The owners are very friendly and kind!

Offering free flowing spring water from two different hot springs and ski storage space, Oyado Eitaro is set in the Okuhida Onsen district in Takayama. Free private parking is available on site. JR Takayama Station is a 60-minute bus ride away. There was a lot to like about Oyado Eitaro. The location is very convenient - only a five (maybe less) minute walk from the bus center. We dropped off our luggage before checking in and later found the bags in our room. The dinner was a wonderful experience and was probably some of the best food we had on our trip. It was a great way to try many different dishes, all of them well prepared. Breakfast was a similar experience. Both the public and private onsens were very relaxing and very clean. Overall an amazing experience. If we ever come back to the area, we’ll be looking to rebook Oyado Eitaro.
