Good location near to bus and rail station and budget supermarket. Nice breakfast buffet. Having a small kitchen in my room for self-catering (the options to eat out in town are limited at times). There are lots of hiking and biking opportunities in the area. Cross-country skiing would also be good but snow is unreliable these days at this altitude.

Great accommodation in a very nice setting to relax and go hiking. Our "Blockhaus" was very well equipped. A nice wooden stove and infrared heaters with thermostat in all rooms kept us warm. Nicely located outside of town with beautiful views, hiking trails etc.. The owners were very friendly and helpful - excellent communication via German and English. We will be happy to come back.

Me and my family spent two nights while crossing Germany, taking time to explore the Harz mountains. The appartment is roomy, sufficient for six people (two bedrooms and a gigantic sofa). The beds are new and comfortable. There is a bathroom and an additional (2nd) toilet, which comes in handy for a larger group. The kitchen is well equiped. The owner is readily available, very helpful and speaks perfect English.
