Incredible view, from the terrace especially. Wonderful mattress (I only used one bedroom but have a feeling all the other beds are equally comfortable). Host has an extra Jeep he will rent at for a reasonable price. I suppose most people would actually arrive by car but I took the train because I was visiting friends in the area. The host speaks English and is very warm and welcoming -- he showed me photos of his travels (he and his wife are both teachers and sometimes travel to teach in Portuguese-speaking countries) and gave me a glass of wine. Village is small and traditional, the only business being a small cafe that everyone seems to go to at least once a day. You can easily get to many attractions, such as caves, beaches and forest. A beautiful, peaceful place.

We really appreciated the host for being so accommodating due to our requesting a late check-in time. The home itself is located in an idyllic village and is quite enjoyable strolling through the cobblestone streets admiring the architecture and hearing the birds. The few people we encountered were absolutely genuine and welcome which added to the many helpful amenities already included in the home such as high-speed reliable wifi for work. This is a must visit property that will become a regular get away for us when needing to get out of Lisbon for awhile. Thank you Rafael and Lucília for your warm hospitality. You were always available and helped us find our way throughout our stay.

Loved the location, it’s tucked between hills, closed to a small river. You can hear the river and see the stars at night. The house was very clean and the fireplace made it super cosy. Big plus for being pet friendly, our dog loved the place and the areas! And the host was very kind and hospitable.
