The place is clean, cozy, and comfortable. We got a heat pump keeping us warm in the living room but we were still cold at the kitchen and dining area. So we have to use the fireplace to warm the house up a little. The kitchen is pretty well equipped and is good for prepping for the family! Hot water comes right in for shower that is very critical especially in cold weather!!!! everything is pretty good!
Travelled to mount Ruapehu and stayed here for one night. Absolutely loved the whole experience, from the warm welcome at the reception to the comfy room and the cooking amenities. The room was nice and warm!
Supermarket is a 5 min drive away and the kitchen is nice and clean:) Will definitely be back again!
We had a family room with its own bathroom, which was great. The rest of the facilities were good too. We made use of the kitchen/common room and the hot tubs (which you book separately). Despite very cold, near-snowing, weather in Ohakune the Snowman Lodge was warm and comfortable. It was also very central to Ohakune and all the restaurants, ski shops, etc.
Very clean facilities. Loved the bathrooms, great indoor and outdoor space. Love the outdoor fire place area. Kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed cooking our dinners/breakfasts.
