This holiday home has 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette with an oven and a toaster, a flat-screen TV, a seating area and 1 bathroom fitted with a shower. Guests can take in the views of the sea from the terrace, which also has outdoor furniture. The accommodation offers a fireplace.

The cottage lives up to its name. It is on the top floor, and from the living room and one of the bedroom, the view is stunning. Surrounded by trees, we enjoyed the sounds of native birds (tūī, pīwakawaka, kereru, kākā...). The full kitchen has all you need to cook a good feed. Glinis was very friendly and had advice for us for our stay on the island. If we ever go back to NZ, and can get to Aotea, we will definitely book this cottage again!

Whalers' cottage is in a lovely spot with superb views from the terrace and the upstairs bedrooms over the nearby inlet. It is in very good proximity of the start to the Aotea track. Unfortunately, the third and last day of the track was exceptionally wet and we arrived back at the cottage soaking wet. We soon forgot our wet journey once we were back at the cozy and warm cottage and had dried ourselves. It is a great place to relax and hang out with some friends. It is comfortable and fitted out with everything one needs for the stay.

Just 400-metres from Pa Beach, Aotea Lodge Great Barrier is set amongst over 1.5 acres of serene parkland.

Aotea Lodge is a 10-minute drive from the ferry wharf and a 15-minute drive from Great Barrier Airport. There are natural hot springs located 12-km away. Shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs are within a short walk.

All units have their own entrance, bathroom and kitchen with free, off street parking.

The lodge was a perfect setting for our stay, we fortunately had pretty awesome weather so could make good use of the lovely outdoor decks. Our apartment was clean and well set up. Fiona, our host, was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The lodge itself is just a short walk from Tryphena Bay, with an easy visit to the pub, cafe and local store.
