Great starting point for hiking and visiting other locations (and villages around Peak District) by train or a visit of Chatsworth House with bus stations nearby. You can find everything you need within a walking distance of 10 minutes. To be fair it was our first stay at a cottage but it exeeded our expectations with its amazing condition. Exceptionally clean! Lovely picked furniture and detailed interior can make you sense the hosts passion for maintaining the cottage and giving you the best possible stay in a house this age. Pure joy to help maintain a nice building by a pleasant holiday stay.

A beautifully furnished and curated apartment that is impeccably clean, has good-quality toiletries and nice coffee and is well located in a very central location in Matlock. Perfect for exploring on foot the town, the heritage railway and the short walk up Pic Tor, or for bus, train and car travel to explore further afield. Would thoroughly recommend this property. I can't explain how perfect it was, from the details to the decor it was amazing. Easy check in and check out, beautiful views. Emily and Rob were amazing and left us an anniversary card (thank you). Emily went to buy us some gifts I asked for and paid for with no hesitation. It was so quite, maybe too quite if your not use to it but it was lovely. It wasn't far from the centre and taxis were available if you didn't want to walk up and down the hill (it nearly killed me walking up it). We even got some free proper milk in the fridge. Absolutely would stay again. Thank you Emily and Rob.
