Everything, this was the second time we’ve stayed within a year. Great kitchen with a nice lounge and big bedroom, very comfortable and close to Brecon national park. Blackwood is about 10 minutes away for supermarkets and restaurants but we prefer the self catering facilities which are great.
Situated 28 km from Cardiff University, The Lions Den flat at the red lion public house. Features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Easy to find with off street parking. Exceptionally clean and uncluttered which I love. Could do with a mirror over the bathroom sink for shaving.

Everything, the property was very very clean and accommodated us with recommendations for where to eat and go for leisure. We had a video sent to us for parking and what the property looked like prior to coming to the place which was very very helpful else we would of struggled for parking. The owners went above and beyond with their hospitality and we’re definitely going to be coming back place was also very clean and location wise, we can’t complain at all 10/10
Self-catering accommodation gives you the freedom and privacy that’s needed to enjoy a well-earned break. From modern apartments and luxury villas to beach huts and eco-lodges, the options are seemingly endless. Cook in your kitchen, read in the garden, or chill on the sofa and watch TV – however you choose to spend time, you’ll feel right at home.
Fabulous location.
Walk to local shops, Caerphilly castle and train station to Cardiff.
3 ensuite bedrooms meant we had our own space.
Fully fitted kitchen.
Cupboards full of everything we needed.
Downstairs toilet and washing machine were a bonus.
The property is cute, with a few bedrooms although we didn’t need these. There was Netflix & prime available, and it had a garden for our dogs, it had all the kitchen utensils you needed. The location is nice with lots of areas to walk with dogs. The host was very nice and the cleaners were lovely.
The cottage was close to local shops and the castle which was fantastic. We loved that we could park on the drive. Both bedrooms had an en-suite which meant we could get ready in the morning with ease. The kitchen was filled with utensils and a dishwasher which was a nice touch!
Great central location for walking in and around Caerphilly.
Spacious light house, well equipped kitchen and great outdoor space with BBQ facilities. David very helpful and responded quickly repairing a small issue with shower. Beds incredibly comfortable.
Large Morrisons behind the house (walking distance) perfect for stocking up on essentials.
Great few days bringing my elderly father back to reconnect with places and family from his childhood, thank you David 😊
Easy location, good access for travel. Nice size property. Value for money. Easy to get to shops etc. kitchen was well stocked with crockery etc. nice to see all the electrics pat tested. Lovely walk in shower, and great to have en-suite with a bath.
lovely 3 bedroom cottage, with a small enclosed garden which backs on to a woodland it was wonderful to sit and have a coffee and listen to all the birds in a morning
Also coffee & tea and Welsh cakes we’re waiting in the kitchen
Shower/ bathroom was small, but remember it is a cottage
we loved you could walk into Cwmcarn forest and do many of the walks through the forest or even do the forest drive
I’m sure we’ll be back
The house is perfect, great kitchen, lovely garden, and comfortable beds. We are a family of 5 and it catered to us for a long weekend perfectly. It was in a brilliant location with shops nearby and some lovely walks at the bottom of the road.
It was very nice and tidy. kitchen had all required machines and utensils. Garden is very quiet and serene, you can here the birds and water.
excellent location.
