Ness & Phil were Exceptional Hosts — they really made me feel right at home and were so helpful during my stay. They really thought of everything. The room/bed/pillows were super cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional including the dining room and their attentive service. They had a surge protector with lots of outlets right next to the bed, so no problem charging my devices. They had milk in the fridge right near my room so I could add to the coffee I made in my room. They gave me advice (and pamphlets) on things to do in the area. And their cozy hotel was beautifully furnished and within walking distance of everything. The city center was literally a 1-2 minute walk away as was the beautiful "Valley of the Rocks" coastline trail. I will definitely visit them again and highly recommend staying there to all who visit Lynton or Lynmouth or Exmoor Park!

Everything was spotlessly clean in this beautiful B&B, sitting on top of the world. Breakfast was delish and allowed for customization of breakfast for folks with allergens (wonderful GF pancakes and crumpets). Their gin bar was a really fun addition. Highcliffe is perfectly located amongst Lynton and Lynmouth. You can easily walk into town or take the charming water-powered tram between the two towns. Robert and Richard were stunning hosts are were readily available all times of the day from directions into town to local recommendations. Cheers!

Wonderful big English breakfast served with a smile and interest.
Loved the location and personal attention to preferences.
The building has thick walls and so internet was not possible in the rooms. But internet is possible in the pub and entrance lounge/outside seating at front door.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rebecca who was warn , cheerful and friendly we were made to feel welcome immediately.
The hotel is tastefully decorated with fine furnishings. Our room was superb and with a sea view.
Prior to our arrival we had already had a three course lunch so unfortunately, we had no room to dine in the evening. Our breakfast was amazing and upon our check out we were able to speak to Steve. He was pleased with our comments and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, that’s what we call friendly.
We will definitely be going back at some stage and would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel

Good location for the many walks near by.
Good location for the many walks near by. Not many places to eat in the evening if you didn't want to drive any where. Lack of toilets for public use. You need to be quite fit to get the best out of Lynton as it is very hilly. People are friendly which was very good. I would recommend the Crown Hotel for food and good service.

We really enjoyed Lynton.
We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area. We hiked from Lynmouth up the hill - going right to pub 'the blue ball inn' - then on to Watersmeet - from there up the stream to Rockford Inn and then down to Lynmouth again.

A small and friendly cliff side town with a wonderful cliff railway and a tea shop selling the very best cream teas in all the surrounding area. Ample parking in a large convenient carpark to the town with many shops and facilities.
The room was well decorated and well furnished, with two lovely chairs in the bay window overlooking the sea. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was lovely and spacious.
Breakfast offered a lot of choice and the foot was great. The couple who run the place were also lovely.
There is a sister hotel just 100m down the road where you can also order an evening meal, which gave us generous portions. I also love the honesty bar. It felt very homely and more like an apartment as we also had use of the guest lounge as well. Would thoroughly recommend.
The property is in a peaceful location with beautiful sea views and everything you need for a perfect getaway. Well situated for exploring Exmoor and the North Devon coast. The accommodation was fully equipped with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the property was warm and clean. Nice patio to sit out on in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Within minutes walk of local shops and the cliff railway. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would happily stay here again if we were in the area.
Great location on the moor just 8 minutes out of Lynmouth. Beautiful old Devon farmhouse. The proprietor Susan was so welcoming and the room was cosy and really comfortable. Perfect after a day on the cliffs getting soaked through . My single room had a separate toilet and shower just across the hall way. Breakfast was delicious freshly cooked choice of continental yogurts fruit cereal and or full English. Will be looking for an excuse to return Superb value for money. One of the highlights of my trip.
We stayed at Rockvale house for 2 nights. On our arrival, Ness and Phil made us feel so welcome. Our room was lovely and clean and had everything available that we needed for our stay.
The breakfast options were great, were cooked perfectly and served quickly by Ness and Phil.
The location was great, with both shops and restaurants very close. We would highly recommend Rockvale House whilst visiting Lynton and Lynmouth, and we look forward to going back. Thank you! 🙂⭐️
We received such a warm welcome when we arrived. Owners Rebecca and Steve could not have done more for us to make us feel at home. The hotel is well located, and we had a great view of both the sea and the cliff railway from our room. The staff of this hotel went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay and provided great advice on how to make the most out of our time in Lynton and Lynmouth. We will definitely be visiting again.
Everything about our stay was perfect! Robert and Richard were so welcoming and friendly, they went over and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Attention to detail - second to none, there is no room for improvement left! The breakfast was amazing!
We highly recommend Highcliffe House to anyone visiting Lynton.
P.S. Thank you for a chocolate Easter bunny 😉
Rebecca who runs the hotel is simply lovely - so helpful and kind. The hotel is a beautiful Victorian building with stunning views of the sea. The facilities are all excellent and the beds were really comfortable. We enjoyed the extra features, like the guest lounge and the breakfast each morning was outstanding. We would highly recommend this hotel.
old fashioned Inn next to the river with access to some foot paths. The Inn has parking for cars. The bar area has lots of character and real fires. The Inn stock a couple of beers draft but everything else comes from bottles. All the beers are from the Exmoor brewery. The evening meals were nice when available. Our twin room was clean and tidy.
The hotel was beautiful and spacious, lovely furnishings. The view across the bay from all of the rooms was fantastic. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and evening meals we had were excellent. The hotel was in eyesight of the funicular down to Lynmouth. walk from the hotel to valley of rocks had fantastic views.
We received a very warm welcome at the Blue Ball, the room and en-suite were clean and tidy. The selection of meals for lunch and dinner is very good. The location of the Blue Ball is excellent for both Lynton and Lynmouth and the river walks.
On the whole a great place to stay, we will be back.

Hospitality and friendliness of staff was best we'd ever experienced and food was first class. Quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre but still within easy reach of both Lynton and Lynmouth.
Wonderful 2 night stay in quiet, comfortable B.and B.,just a short walk from the centre of Lynton. Large, airy bedroom with good facilities and excellent, well prepared breakfast. Amenable hosts.
