The room was excellent. Modern design with good furnishings. The bathroom was large and the condiments on offer were outstanding. The water pressure in the shower was superb and the quality of towels and bedding were very good. The breakfast was sumptuous and the staff were very. pleasant and engaging.

The Port Museum (Musee Portuaire) was very interesting and give a great insight into the history and development of the port both past and present. A good number of old master seascapes and some model ships were exhibited. Another good and interesting museum is the one on Operation Dynamo - the Battle of Dunkirk and the subsequent evacuation. This was very thought -provoking. The beaches (linked to the evacuation) at Malo-les-Bains are wonderful.

Small city, not too much to do but just enough.
Small city, not too much to do but just enough. Able to spend time on the beaches and go to museums. Many options to go out for a drink or dinner, highly recommend eating at Moon shiners. Centre is quite compact so everything is walking distance.

For war history enthusiasts, Dunkerque is a must!
For war history enthusiasts, Dunkerque is a must! It's steeped in history.
Lots to see and within a relatively small radius.
Very easy to get further afield too, with Bruges being just an hour away aswell as easily accessible to Lille and other places of interest.
Excellent ferry service with DFDS and only 30 minutes drive to the centre.
There are street markets and some lovely bars and restaurants. Our favourite became Woll Street, with the fabulous Julian and team on hand, very friendly, great menu, outside and inside seating and a happy hour for drinks at the weekend. They even made a dish which wasn't on their menu for me and allowed me to buy some delicious pastries at a nearby bakery and eat them at the bar!
Buses are free and an excellent service.
The tourist information office is located in the beautiful Belfry and they are super helpful.

Hidden gem!
Hidden gem! The town itself has a rich history, but so do the beaches and forts. The museum’s really surprised us, as well as the Fort des Dunes, just to the east. Massive fort under the dunes! You have no clue it is even there and with amazing history! Owned by the Spanish, French, English, Belgians and Germans!
I expected from the pictures on booking.com that the room would be extremely basic and maybe even slightly uncomfortabel. It ended up being a very large room, very clean with a pleasant smell, much larger bathroom than expected. Also had a bathtub which was not mentioned in the specifications of the basic room we booked. The price was more than fair (especially compared to dutch prices for hotels). The location was perfect! We were able to go everywhere by foot to explore the city, parking was close by and breakfast was great!
Ideal central location with plenty of free parking behind the hotel. We paid for a room with view over the harbour looking out to sea, room 302. Worth the extra charge. Nice design, reflecting a ship's cabin and it had two chairs. Buffet breakfast provided as much to eat and drink as you wanted. Nice cheeses and fresh bread. Self service egg boiler was a nice touch.
Very good hotel for business stays. Unfortunately their Satellite does not work, 3 different rooms, 3 stays, no international channels like BBC or CNN worked, and satellite all together went off all the time.
Internet does not always work well in all rooms either I realized, but besides that a good hotel, very friendly staff
The property is very modern, cozy and super clean with comfortable beds and good equipment.
WiFi works perfect. The location is wonderful. It is quite, and at the same time close to the beach and restaurants, shops, etc.
The owner is very friendly and ready to help when needed. We really enjoyed our stay in Dunkerque.
The location was very good and we had a view of the sea. The hotel has secure parking and the staff are excellent and friendly.
This was our last stop on six week holiday and the buffet breakfast was the very best of all experienced on this trip. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
The hotel offered a quick continental breakfast. We overslept because of the time difference and they still allowed us to eat, which was nice. The room was comfortable and so were the beds. We were traveling with two teens and they each had their own bed. The room was quiet and dark.
We thought it was a cheap hotel but turns out it was a youth hostel. The staff were brilliant and because we were traveling as a family, we all had a great time because everyone was catered for. Loved the location... 5 minutes to the sea. Loved the freedom the older children could have.
The hotel itself was very clean and well looked after, and the staff were all very friendly and did their best with our mixture of English and very broken French. Breakfast was the typical continental affair with hot bacon and egg available as well.
Apartment was very clean, well equipped and in a good location with parking. Beds were comfy, WiFi was fast and we didn't have any problems throughout the stay. The host, Johan, was also friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay.
the simplicity and authenticity of this place makes you wonder why all the hotels are not just like that one. Here it is not about size of the room or new fancy-cheap materials or TV, it is about what makes you feel at home when you are not.
super comfortable hotel with very nice staff. I love it that the reception and dining area is in totally separate building. The space between the two building is a beautiful courtyard with the view of the old harbor.
The most wonderful place to stay I’ve ever have. Everything VERY nice organized and the owner together with administrator were taking care about us as like about their own guests and not like in hotel. That’s amazing!
we loved this property. it’s in a perfect location. The staff is wonderful. Breakfast was very good. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, room and bathroom clean. Highly recommend if staying in Dunkerque.
Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location... Literally next to the beach. The staff were friendly & helpful & the food was incredible. I had the best steak I've ever eaten. Can't recommend this place enough
