Very nice room and gives cabiny vibes when staying here. Hanging mat to enjoy the sunrise or sunset on the balcony. Great place to stay if you’re going to Yakushima. It’s also walkable from the ferry terminal in miyanouri but a car would be recommended.
Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion.

Amazing Jungle island to go on hikes and it has some gorgeous waterfalls especially in spring when the rain season is there. There are also some amazing beaches to chill across the island with great views

Yakushima is a beautiful island with amazing views.
Yakushima is a beautiful island with amazing views. The island is quiet and not touristy at all. Most things are closed on Sundays and don’t chose Yakushima if you want to go shopping or night life (it doesn’t exist). If you want great hiking, beautiful views and a touch of peace and quiet it’s a great place to go. Rent a car. Definitely worth it to tour the island and some of the inland roads (be warned they are very narrow and slow moving in many places, and you will need to reverse a lot for others to pass) It was a great way to see the island all its beauty and tons of monkeys.

Shiratani Unsuikyo was breathtaking.
Shiratani Unsuikyo was breathtaking. Jumonsugi Cedar trail was an adventure but not as pretty as Shiratani Unsuikyo. I am glad I did it but would not do it again. I will remember Shiratani Unsuikyo for the rest of my life as one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and I have travelled a lot. Words cannot describe how beautiful it was. I wish I had 4 nights here. I needed one more day to explore the island. People should think twice about doing Jumonsugi trail. It is a lot and quite hard. Do it for the adventure but not for the views.

Incredible island full of wonderful nature toe explore, I could have spent 5 days here probably, although a car rental would be really helpful. The buses and taxis are relatively expensive and not always available or convenient.

You have to hike on Yakushima to really appreciate it.
You have to hike on Yakushima to really appreciate it. The drive into the hills to get to these walks is incredible. The walks through moss and forests of ancient trees is brillant. It is like stepping into another world on Yakushima. If not into hiking, then the waterfalls and beaches and tide pools are also great.

It is an amazing island with beautiful nature and scenery...
It is an amazing island with beautiful nature and scenery but not well developed infrastructure and scarce public transport system. Best to rent a car, otherweise it limits activity on the other side of the island. Realisticly speaking the one destination visit per day is maximum with public transport. It is also necessary to begin early, as there are not really activities just for a half day (due to bus schedules). Therefore a 3 days stay may be a bit too short considering travel time with a ferry. It is good idea to shop before reaching island as there is limited supermarket choice.
What can I say, this is THE place to stay on Yakushima Island. The owner has thought of quite literally everything to ensure a comfortable stay. The general store with vending machines, laundry and a room that is exceptionally well equipped. Additionally he helped me book a morning taxi for the Mt Miyanoura walk (as the island was booked out of rental cars). I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend to everyone, you won't be disappointed. Also very very close to the bus stop and a pleasant 20min walk into Anbo.
Everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, and exceeded all expectations-- after every meal, I was left craving more. In addition, the hosts were very accommodating and informative. They made sure we had the best experience in Yakushima, recommending and scheduling tours for us, especially during the rainy days when we were not able to do much. They also packed lunches for our hikes. Despite the weather, just meeting them was an absolute pleasure, and I hope to return soon.
Absolutely stunning place! Large cottage overlooking the water, with unit bath inside and a beautiful outdoor tub on the deck! This was an amazing base for our nights on the island.
Staff were just wonderful, providing comprehensive tourist information, and personal recommendations based on our planned itinerary.
I wholeheartedly recommend this location, and would not hesitate to re-book if we visit Yakushima again in the future.
I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic Hidekazu-san was as a host. He was invaluable in offering tips and suggestions for my 2 night stay on Yakushima island. The location was quite centrally as well in the Miyanoura town area. This guesthouse is a renovated standard Japanese home but it had all the amenities that one could hope for. My shoes were completely soaked from hiking Yakushima but staff there helped me dry out overnight.
Kitchen and washing machine is available for free. It was very convenient to be able to wash all the dirty clothes after a long hiking.
Room air conditioner is new and very efficient. Slept very comfortably.
There is a supermarket nearby, which allowed us to buy breakfast and lunch at cheap price.
Luckily there were no other guests staying while we stayed. So we had very pleasant time staying here.
Good location, the bus station is right outside and it's near to supermarkets. The guest house has maps and bus timetables available, there is a shared kitchen and equipment for cooking your own food, with washing facilities. Staff are friendly, and our room was clean and comfy too. A great base for exploring Yakushima!
I really enjoyed the privacy of a stand-alone cottage in the middle of the forest. Since there were only a couple of other guests in the hotel, we could also enjoy the bath fully privately. The location is perfect as a base to hike Shiratani Unsuikyo: a short car ride to the trail head.
Beautifully designed guest house surrounded by nature and with stunning sea view.
Very nice and helpful (!) hosts that helped us tremendously with going on two amazing hikes on Yakushima island.
Superb breakfast with delicious fruits and other locally sourced ingredients
The building was a gorgeous old japanese house with lots of charm and modern amenities. Our host Barbara was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the island. Feel free to ask her if you need any help or suggestions. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return someday
Location is absolutely beautiful. Owner Hero-san knows everything about Yakushima & suggested us how to get to the places & times of buses. Last day, he sent us to local home cooking restaurant/Cafe which we thought incredibly charming & food was excellent !
Very nice room and gives cabiny vibes when staying here. Hanging mat to enjoy the sunrise or sunset on the balcony. Great place to stay if you’re going to Yakushima. It’s also walkable from the ferry terminal in miyanouri but a car would be recommended.
The accommodation is 2min walking distance to the ferry.
The staff was very kind and accommodating, providing all the necessary info to get around.
7 min walking distance from this place is a supermarket, which we used every day.
Amazing food for beakfast, the host was super lovely, the location is close to everything (I really recommend renting a car for get the most out of Yakushima). The rooms were small but had everything needed.
Great location with one of the best views of Yakushima. Warm hospitality from the owner and staff; and delicious hearty food from its own farm. Highly recommended!
Incredible hotel, one of the best we have ever stayed at. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. The food was delicious and the facilities world class.
