Torquay is a delightful holiday destination with a great surfing beach, vibrant shopping centre with shops, cafes and restaurants. We found the Torquay Hotel a particularly nice venue to eat as a family.

I love the sea and find the ocean re-invigorating. The people are friendly and there some great places to run along the coastline as well as restaurants to dine out at. I shopped for local products which I enjoyed and picked up some nice little gifts. The holiday enabled my two dogs to travel with me and my friend so that our family had a nice break. It made my winter seem a little more cheerful as I don't enjoy the cold but managed to paddle in the ocean with Peppy and Tom. Thank you for the opportunity to get away.

Squires Loft is a great restaurant especially if you like steak.
Point Impossible is the most beautiful beach in Torquay. It is clothing optional so there are not a lot of kids and the beach is pretty quiet although there are a few male perverts that are creepy.
We went to 2 coffee shops that weren't great. I will take my own coffee machine next time.
One of the fish & chip shops near woolies was closed on Wednesday night which I found strange. Another one in Bell St was open but the chips weren't good. It is a guessing game to figure out which take away shops are open, their website will say the shop is open when it isn't.
The bars close early and you will struggle to find an open bar after 9.30pm.
It can be hard to find parking at peak times.

Torquay is a great destination and in my opinion one of the nicest towns along the surf coast. The town centre is pleasant to walk around, and the vibe is great - plenty of choice for foodies with a plethora of fantastic restaurants.
I was here for 3 days on business but made sure I fitted in some leisure time and can't wait to return.
We arrived in pouring rain after a very long flight and our luggage had not arrived. We were extremely early for check in but this was not a problem at all, we were given an available room for no extra charge. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we felt as comfortable as possible. He also gave us excellent tips for quick trips along the Great Ocean Road. we booked Torquay Motel because of the wonderful reviews and I can agree with them all. What a great start to our holiday, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
The resort at Torquay has a marvellous view of the golf course, as well as being easily accessible on the road. It was a well furnished and decorated place, and the staff were very generous to give us a free upgrade to the ocean view room which are on the higher floors. The bathroom was luxurious and the rooms very comfortable for a pair of travelers. The balcony was perfect for a relaxing tea or wine in the evening, looking out over the green expanse, with the blue of the ocean just in sight on a sunny afternoon.
The staff went over and above and were incredibly friendly and helpful. There was a mixup when I arrived so I was upgraded and stayed in a beautiful suite. Everybody was so friendly and helpful and Mark, who works at the golf course, took me on a tour in the morning to see kangaroos!
The pillows was so comfortable which is quite rare in hotels these days!
That is a stunning walk to do along the beach. The salty sea dog is a Fantastic Café full of happy dogs and it absolutely made my morning .
John, the manager was amazing. he called me and ran through everything prior to my stay and addressed some issues I found reading existing reviews. however he definitely explained to me that this is NOT a Hilton hotel and it is mainly for large groups and might be a little banged up. But to be fair, for a large family all we needed was a clean common area, beds and a fully functioning kitchen. and it provided all of that for our stay!
Not a hotel/motel, but a lovely homestay. Communication and instructions were great. Very clean and comfortable room with really useful and thoughtful touches, and shared access to a well equipped kitchen, comfy lounge room and spotless bathroom. Stuart is a very easy going, respectful and helpful host ... thank you! Look forward to visiting again and enjoying brekky properly :o)
This was better than it looked in the pictures. We had the family room and the beds were super comfy. Think they had done a Reno on the bathroom which was nice and it was very clean. Quiet as well, though we were up the back (room 10) and it was a Sunday night
We also ate dinner in the hotel in front.. good food and good service
We loved the restaurant/Bar and cafe. There is an extensive cocktail menu and they're all so delicious. Try the buffalo wings they're amazing!
The outdoor pool is heated really well and the rooms and apartments are served every day just like a hotel. The hot chocolate they provide in the room is really good!
This property is great. I did not realize how big it was on booking. It would be great for meeting up at the beach with extended family. There are lots of different spaces to hang out, board games, patios…it was a homey place. I would come back if given the chance.
Excellent location, walking distance to beautiful front beach and all amenities that Torquay offers, we had a wonderful holiday, would recommend this fabulous beach house.
It was perfect for our Xmas family holiday including our 3 offspring and their partners. Generous sized rooms, different living areas. Very well set up inside and out.
