We enjoyed visiting the cathedral and the surrounding old town. Also seeing the steady stream of pilgrims arriving elated at the main square in front of the cathedral. We had hoped to see the priests swinging the censor during mass, but this apparently only happens on certain days of the year. You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical...
You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical aspect of this charming city. We attended noon mass one day and visited the crypt with the supposed relics of St. Santiago (James) on another day. Loads of restaurants, shops, the usual touristy stuff. There's a little "tourist train" that costs about $12 for 2 seniors -- during the 45 min. ride, a recording in many languages gives you the latest info.

Although the hotel does not have parking there is a public parking 1 block away. Yo can arrive by car and leave the luggage and then park the car . Be sure to check the weather before traveling. We had a great time but we had rainy days .
