Located in the heart of Santiago de Compostela, this hotel is set in a historic building in the famous Plaza de Galicia, a UNESCO heritage site. It offers a buffet breakfast and a bar-cafeteria.

Good location. Very big room/suite with separation for study table and sofa. Toilet was rromy and came with toiletries and has night light. There was also free dolce gusto pods and machine in room. Robe and bedroom slippers were very comfortable and bed was very warm and toasty during the cold April period. Staff spoke good English and was able to advise me on where to buy bus tickets to Sarria as well as timing. They were also very kind to hold my hardcase luggage until my return from the Camino.

FAQs about hotels in Santiago de Compostela

A Valuable City with Rich History

The city of Santiago de Compostela is the capital of Galicia and the place where the Apostle St. James is buried. The city’s Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its distinguished old monuments around the Cathedral and the tomb of St. James.

Made of granite, the spectacular Baroque facade of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela features massive bell towers and statues of St. James. The Obradoiro facade of the Cathedral is one of the most exceptional examples of the Spanish Baroque period.

Surrounded by magnificent buildings, the monumental square of Plaza do Obradoiro is one of the most historic squares in the world and the heart of Santiago. You can stay in one of the hotels, guest houses or apartments Booking.com offers nearby this majestic square.

The final destination of the Medieval pilgrimage route (El Camino de Santiago), this city is the best place to enjoy fresh fish and traditional Galician bread. Galicia is the seafood capital of Spain and the right place to savor Salpicón de Mar (seafood salad) and Pulpo á Feira (octopus cooked with salt).

The Christian pilgrimage route of the Way of St. James passes by Santiago de Compostela Airport, which is 16 km away from Galicia’s capital.

We enjoyed visiting the cathedral and the surrounding old town. Also seeing the steady stream of pilgrims arriving elated at the main square in front of the cathedral. We had hoped to see the priests swinging the censor during mass, but this apparently only happens on certain days of the year. I think that 2-3 days is enough to see the sights.

You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical aspect of this charming city. We attended noon mass one day and visited the crypt with the supposed relics of St. Santiago (James) on another day. Loads of restaurants, shops, the usual touristy stuff. There's a little "tourist train" that costs about $12 for 2 seniors -- during the 45 min. ride, a recording in many languages gives you the latest info.

Fantastic Location few steps away from plaza obradoiro and the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral . Modern, very clean and very nice hotel . The rooms are spaciuos and very well presented. Very good beds . Very good bathrooms . Number # 1 choice in santiago de compostela . Although the hotel does not have parking there is a public parking 1 block away. Yo can arrive by car and leave the luggage and then park the car . Be sure to check the weather before traveling. We had a great time but we had rainy days .

It's a big pleasure to write opinion about this place :) After second Camino this was my fourth night in Santiago. After three different places we looked for quite area but close to main square. I'm quite demanding traveller and I check opinions carefully before book something in Spain. Someone wrote that this is the best place in Santiago to stop and I agree. This was excellent choice! Very spacious room with amazing view on Cathedral, exactly like from photos. I highly recommend!

The breakfast was well worth it. We were served a delicious set of eggs, with bread and pastries along with our choice of coffee or tea. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave good recommendations and paid parking is right next door with free parking accessible within a ten minute walking range. We have travelled to many parts of Spain and of all the hostels and airbnbs we have tried, this location topped it all.

Great location in the middle of the city centre. BUT NO NOISE, since the windows have a lot of insulation. There's air conditioning (which is not as common as you would think in Spain), very helpful staff (even if most contact is virtual), there is even luggage storage. As a solo female I appreciated the safety of the pension. I liked that the doors were locked at 5:00 pm except to residents. Concierge was very helpful and place was super clean. I’d read reviews that the showers were small. That’s so not true; I’ve seen hotels in Spain with really small showers!
