Laurel and Sue were lovely hosts, very welcoming and made the best breakfast each morning. My room was so well appointed with a relaxed provincial style which I love. The bed was so cosy and comfortable and I loved walking out onto my veranda to relax. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the beach.

It was a very easy 8 minute walk into Lorne from our apartment and we could walk along the boardwalk or take the street paths.
The beaches were lovely and gorgeous views from our balcony. The apartment was furnished and decorated beautifully.
I could not fault anything and will be back again.

Lorne is a lovely place to stay, The beach is clean and good for swimming, and lovely to walk along in the evening. There are plenty of shops to look at, and a good variety of cafes, casual dining and restaurants to choose from. You can access all of Lorne without needing the car. There is a range of stunning walks that can be reached either by foot or by car, with a choice of difficulty ranging from stroller friendly to strenuous.

This was our first visit to Lorne and we were impressed from the moment we drove into town. It is bigger and more modern than we pictured, but not over-developed and certainly not crowded. The town is reminiscent of south-east Queensland, without the heat and humidity. The beach is perfect for young families: a gentle gradient and waves for all ages. There were too many eateries for our three-day stay – one of the main reasons we'll return. Ipsos Restaurant is extremely popular all day long, however, we walked in without a reservation. Captain Hooked fish and chips is well worth a repeat. The locally made Gelato is smooth and packed with flavour. Erskine Falls and Sheoak Falls provide opportunity for manageable bursts of exercise away from the beach, with a nice reward at the end, contrasting abundant tree ferns of the temperate rainforest with sea-side bracken. Short drives to Aireys Inlet and Anglesea afford further opportunities to experience the Great Ocean Road and expand the tourist options on offer with lighthouse tours, canoeing and surf lessons.

Very pricey. Mostly friendly people.
Very pricey. Mostly friendly people. Had a miserable start to our stay our accommodation was horrible. We arrived and there was no one at reception. There was a sign up saying to ring a number which we did and it wouldn’t connect. Tried the door and it opened. There was a man inside who wasn’t much help. It was just horrible. Very unsettling. Very poor place to stay. 😞
The view from our top floor apartment was of tree tops and mountains. Native bird sounds filled the air while the fragrance of the Australian bush after rain surrounded us. It was beautiful and all the more appreciated because the stormy weather made indoors a preference for some of our time in Lorne.
After crossing the road, we enjoyed walking on the boardwalk by the river which we crossed via the hanging bridge to reach the beach. Reception was friendly and gave us a number to call for any help we might need.
This is a great area of Lorne. It's on the water, the hotel has a lot of space and outdoor areas You can also walk onto the beach from the main part.
We booked an apartment room and it was a good size, we really wanted a living room area and sofas so it was a great choice for us. A lot of coffee and tea choices in the kitchen area.
The staff are professional and friendly. To book a tennis court is easy - call reception, book a date/time, equipment (racquets and balls) are available to borrow (no charge).
Perfect winters getaway. I have been visiting Lorne for years and didn’t even know about these amazing cottages. It was so lovely to be up in the trees looking back over Lorne. The cottage was great. Had everything we needed and more. But the icing on the cake was the staff, the gentleman running the accommodation was amazing. Made us feel right at home and relaxed as soon as we arrived. Making sure we had his mobile if we needed anything. Just the cosy relaxing weekend we needed. Thanks heaps.
Adam at reception was very pleasant to deal with. Very friendly and made sure everything in the room was done according to our booking (sofa bed made up). The room was very spacious and great value for money. The sea view from our room was beautiful. Being right behind the Lorne hotel was a bonus as we got live entertainment in our room which we danced to on our balcony. Cut off time at 11 pm was great for an early night in. Got to have live entertainment without leaving our room.
We loved our stay so much in this beautiful location. Lorne was extremely busy whilst we were there, and it was so nice to come back at the end of each day and relax with beautiful views of nature and wildlife in such a peaceful location. My kids loved the wildlife, and the hosts kindly topped up the birdfood whilst we were there so the kids could keep interacting with the local parrots and cockatoos.
We loved the location! It was right next to the Lorne Hotel, at the start of the shopping strip and very close to the beach! It was very clean and comfortable with carparking just outside!. Was beautifully presented with very clear instructions on how to get there and to get inside the unit. The host was absolutely terrific! Looking forward to staying there again soon!
Had a lovely view from my room this time round. I stay here a couple of times a year. Parking is great too - What I love about Lorne and this particular hotel is you can park on your arrival and then walk everywhere for the whole time. Plenty of food options too. The Grandma Shields Bakery was particularly wonderful. Lovely friendly people and yummy pastries.
We loved Lorne Sea View Terrace house, it is a very comfortable home with lovely decor. The view out to sea is truly stunning and all facilities and bathrooms are modern and well maintained. Mel was a great host and prompt with message replies. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time at your accommodation.
The five star venue was of the highest quality. The hosts were generous, communicative and available. The home was very modern, well supplied, and with beautiful views. An open fire was much appreciated, and added to the joy with space to stretch out and and relax.
Very well-equipped kitchen (salt and pepper included!). Extremely quick check-in process, it probably took less than 1 minute. Easy to access Lorne by foot, very close supermarket with all you may need. Very calm and quiet environment out there.
The whole house to ourselves, great undercover car parking .
The elevation and outlook
Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with electric blankets
Not too far from town
Dog friendly, which was the an important reason for choosing
Dinner at Larder was great with attentive staff. The location is ideal for families with beach and pool options as well as being close to the Lorne shops. The staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be in the circumstances.
Location is lovely, kids had a great time with no wifi or internet access. the walk to Cumberland falls is great and a short drive to Lorne. the deluxe cabins were clean and well appointed, we stay in basic cabin
The location was great, easy walking distance to everything on the Lorne waterfront. We were attending a seminar at the Mantra Hotel, so it was very handy to get there,. a short walk across the lawn.
The location, access and cleanliness was good. A short walk to everything on the Lorne foreshore - endless choices of cuisine and a bunch of interesting shops.
The deck was an amazing place to be; the house was very comfortable and perfect for our group, including our dogs. We had a marvelous time at Lorne Haven.
