The Property is very beautiful. The walk from the Restaurant to the hotels is lovely. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient when you have your own transportation as it is out of town however, the estate is very quiet which we liked.

Location, cleanliness, staff, bedrooms, breakfast all amazing. Really enjoyed our stay. Our room and bathrooms were massive and even a small outside patio area with table and chairs. Constant lit fires inside made it nice and cosy. Wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was great and staff were always on hand and friendly. Keep up the good work!

Our initial booking had a strong unpleasant odor and was surrounded by baboons, making it difficult to open the doors. However, the owners promptly responded and swiftly upgraded us to a fantastic property. Their professionalism was exemplary.

The main purpose of going to Franschhoek is to eat in some of the fabulous restaurants. Apart from that there is not a lot else to do and it can be very hot making it uncomfortable just to walk around the village. If self catering there are very good grocery stores including Woolworths Food and a relatively new and modern Checkers. There is also a large Pick n Pay but it is a much lower standard than the other two which are more up market.

We love Franschhoek and could easily have stayed longer.
We love Franschhoek and could easily have stayed longer. We love wandering along Huguenot Street with its many shops and small restaurants and the market on Saturdays and Sundays. We visited Haute Cabriere, Mont Rochelle and Mullineux & Leeu. We enjoyed an excellent lunch in all and had the best wine tasting in Mullineux & Leeu. On the way out we had “high tea” (at 10.30 am) in Orangerie at Le Lude which was quite amazing

Loved Franschhoek but 2 or 3 nights here would probably be enough as town is lovely but small. A great base for doing the winre tram and visiting the various wineries but many can also be reached just as easiliy from Stellenbosch which seemed a little livelier and more going on. Liked the market with drinks and music.
Drivers take note the pass into Franschhoek (the R45 from the R43 or R321) is closed 0900-1700 weekdays until the end of Feb 2024!

Franschoek is a gem!
Franschoek is a gem! Fabulous places to stay, a most beautiful Main Street with so much character, beautiful shops and restaurants, and the Wine Tram. This runs like clockwork and is a perfect way to visit several wine estates without needing to use your car. The estates are fabulous and you stop as long as you like, hopping on the next tram when you are ready!
My husband and I visited Franschhoek for our annual holiday. We've never been before and the Valley did not disappoint. We had a fantastic time tasting wine at 9 different Wine Farms and our stay at Val d'Or Estate was outstanding. A beautiful, spacious suite with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The staff were friendly and very helpful from check-in to check-out, providing everything you needed from extra water to ice cubes. A tranquil gem of a place that I can highly recommend.
The breakfasts were very good, excellent food and great service from the friendly staff at Hussar Grill. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bedding is of a good quality and the room is well set out. The Staff at Protea Franschhoek are friendly, efficient and accommodating. The Hotel is well situated in Franschhoek and all your amenities are within walking distance. This is a great place to stay and explore Franschhoek!
Our stay at this hotel in Franschhoek was highlighted by the complimentary wine tasting at Rickety Bridge, a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for a memorable visit. The service was exceptionally attentive, with the convenience of being able to contact them anytime via WhatsApp.Nestled in the picturesque surrounds of a renocated farm, the ambiance was charming.
Auberge Chanteclair is far more than a hotel. The staff and the atmosphere there truly makes you feel at home. The breakfast is delicious, the staff goes out of their way to assist you and the scenery in and around the property is stunning. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. The best hotel I have stayed in for a long time.

Absolutely stunning piece of property with very tasteful decor and absolutely spotless. the bed was insanely comfortable and could easily rival my favorite Westin beds. location is also great with a very safe environment and within walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Franschhoek.
This is a lovely, boutique-style hotel with beautiful gardens of flowers, plants and bushes. It is very pretty. We find that the rooms are bright, modern and very comfortable. We stayed here for the first time in 2022, and wanted to come back this year because we liked it so much.
The hotel has a typical Franschhoek style about it and is very attractive, with the vineyards and mountains in the background. The staff were amazingly friendly and attentive, and made us feel at home. The room was very well equipped and the pool area and garden well looked after.
The hotel room was beautiful and the views from the dining / bar area across the gardens looking at the valley to the mountains were amazing. Felt like you were in the countryside when only a 10 mins walk to the High Street in Franschhoek with plenty of restaurants and shops.
A beautiful, tranquil luxury hotel, right in the centre of Franschhoek. Breakfast outside on the terrace was delicious and we could not have felt more welcomed by the friendly staff. Our room was large and spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped.
We stayed in a 40' container. The farm setting is very nice. We had views of the farm, animals, vineyards, and surrounding mountains. Pigcasso is a monumental animal we'll never forget. We saw the Franschhoek mountain sign from our rooftop terrace.
Very nice guesthouse in Frankshoek area. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is ok. The staff is kind. The hotel has also a restaurant. So it is a good hotel if you want to visit the winery area or if you just want to relax at the hotel's pool.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are fantastic, especially Byron. He helped with bookings, reservations, recommendations, etc. We felt so welcome and pampered! Thank you!
And they also look after the environment, which is a huge plus.
Breakfast was good, location was good, rooms were large and comfortable a reminder of a provincial hotel in the country.Incredible views looking down over the Franschhoek valley.Staff were attentive and helpful.
Lovely centuries old homestead surrounded by mountains and lush growth. Corna was delightful host and went out of her way to accommodate us. Lovely setting so close to all Franschhoek activities.
This is great unit located close to town. The unit is new and well equipped for a self catering unit. Great beds and views of the mountains from the balcony. Thanks
The staff running the hotel are just incredible. Their help made our trip to Franschhoek the unforgettable experience it was. Definitely want to come back!
