I was only there for a couple of days as a layover onto my next stop. I wanted to hike the lumber site. I highly recommend taking the trip north to this area. The views were amazing, and it was a pleasant hike and easy for all ages.Guest review bysml0920United States - 8.0

I never heard about Mandal before, and I had not prepared for our stay well, but I really enjoyed my 2.5-hour walk around the city. We also went to a beach, but just to walk as it was cold that evening. Certainly worth better preparation if you want to combine sightseeing and hiking in one place.Guest review byWitalijPoland - 8.0
Arendal is a beautiful little coastal town.
Arendal is a beautiful little coastal town. Summer is the best time. Spring in Norway can range from raging blizzard to warm and sunny. I had it all in April / May. The place is teaming with great food too.Guest review byFaustbosNorway - 10.0

The area is great for walking - well maintained trails and opportunities to stop by the water. Our only stop outside of the hotel was at the Kiwi pris (small market) so other shops or attractions were not part of our visit.Guest review byIlsaUnited States - 10.0
Farsund Resort is a nature lover's dream.
Farsund Resort is a nature lover's dream. The stunning location, coupled with top-notch amenities and a three-bedroom duplex cottage, exceeded all expectations. Waking up to the sounds of nature in a cozy cottage with attached baths was pure bliss. The resort seamlessly blends luxury with the surrounding natural beauty, creating a perfect haven. A stay felt like a rejuvenating escape into tranquility. Highly recommend for those seeking a crisp retreat amidst nature.Guest review byBidyenduNorway - 8.0
Great beach at Rosfjord, and some really decent restaurants.
Great beach at Rosfjord, and some really decent restaurants. Sørlandsbadet also looks good, although it was closed due to the pandemic when we visited. Good variety of shops, so you can get what you need. The town centre itself is not all that beautiful.Guest review byGøril BjerkholNorway - 8.0
Kunstsilo is one of the world's great art venues.
Kunstsilo is one of the world's great art venues. The food there was good but not exceptional. While the city itself is OK and has some pleasant areas some of the smaller towns further north are more picturesque.Guest review byJohnSweden - 10.0
Mandal is the most beautiful summer city in Norway.
Mandal is the most beautiful summer city in Norway. Long beautiful beaches, rich culture (famous Norwegian artists like Gustav Vigeland were born here) and a pitoresque old town with white wooden houses.Guest review byStef-TuNorway - 8.0

Very charming village and a great place to stay especially if you take the late ferry from Hirtshals. It is a smaller town but I rate that as a plus as the walkplatz is somewhat limited - which makes me feel comfortable as the people are friendly.Guest review byPaulGuam
