The heater was on ice in the middle of the night, so cold that I couldn't sleep.
The water in the spa is also very cold, making it almost impossible to get in.

Small town as a gateway to the Lake region.
Small town as a gateway to the Lake region. Perfect for stopping by incase you want to visit Hallstat and other lake regions.
Town itself is good with few important touristic spots like Kaiservilla etc. Good scenery especially on a cloudy day. Being small town shops closes by 6 and then nothing much to do as it becomes quiet.

I have fallen in love with Bad Ischl and its “Sommerfrische”! We first went there in 2021 for the Lehár Operette Festival. It is a quiet village which falls asleep at 10pm, but such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay with so many daytime activities on offer. Close to different lakes and plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities. Lots of culture and loaded with history. I will return here every summer for many years to come.

We went to the thermal after dinner and it was pretty empty (which was great!) note that you must be naked in the Sauna zone.
We had dinner at K.U.K and it was the best dinner we had in our trip
If you come at Winter, for breakfast I recommend to eat at the place you are staying because all cafes serves food outside... for us it was too cold. We ate at a hotel in the center.

1. With "Katrin Seilbahn" you can get a great view. Google Maps will tell you to walk to this place. However, you can get here by bus 551 from Bad Ischl train station. (Takes 10 minutes)
2. Taking a hot spring bath at "Eurotherme Resort" is also recommended.
3. Don't miss out on a delicious meal at "Umeko"

I highly recommend to visit Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, it still belongs to the descendants of Habsburgs, well maintained, has great atmosphere and the tour guide there was just amazing. The Kaiservilla was featured at least in couple of movies (about Sissi and Ludwig II) and it really stands out compared to the visits to the other palaces and museums around the world, has some special personal touch and is of high historical significance.
Also Bad Ischl is a great budget base for visiting Hallstatt.
I had to book last minute due to a medical emergency. In my haste I didn’t check the map and assumed the property was in Bad Ischl. I was disappointed to find out we were almost 5 km out of town in a tiny spot called Lauffen. However, it turned out to be just what we needed, and we were able to check in early. The property is right on the river, which includes a small beach and swimming area. It was quiet and peaceful and the landlady was very friendly and helpful.
V comfortable apartment , well located to explore the beautiful Salzkammergut.
Well equipped kitchen allowing self catering . Washing machine useful for
Family holidays .
Apartment well located in quiet residential area but easy 10 min walk to town center and shops and restaurants.
Bad Ischl a perfect base to explore the Salzkammergut; the Katrin , Hallstadt and our family highlight hiking around the Gosausee which is stunningly beautiful.
This year I have been on travel more than 50 days (and nights:) to various places in Austria and abroad, but I found this place exceptional due to its charming atmosphere. The furniture is amazing, normally you see something like that in a museum:), all facilities are very well maintained and clean. The host is very friendly and ready to help with advice. In my opinion this place is a nice example of hospitality, for which Austria is famous.
Lots of things to like! The apartment is nicely furnished and comfortable, with a terrace overlooking the Traun river and a mountain. The location is very convenient, only a few minutes of walk to the Bad Ischl center, and there is also a free parking spot right in front of the house. We found everything very clean, and even some goodies in the kitchen awaiting the hungry travelers. Very spacious.
Loved that the apartment was fully functional along with utilities in the kitchen. It was easy to locate on Google maps, parking was easy. The host met us, she was very warm and friendly and gave us tips on what to do in Bad Ischl. Since we were travelling with a 4 year old we were relying on kitchen for our evening meals - which was nice with dishwasher, oven and a hob - and other utensils.
I arrived by train, and the hotel was easy to find, only 100 metres or so from the train station. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but I went to the Euro Spar supermarket nearby, that sells sandwiches, salads etc.
My room was on the second floor, and had a balcony with a very nice view on the garden and the mountains surrounding Bad Ischl.
I came with three little sailors for Austrian Championship on Traunsee. I choose this property because of relative short distance from the lake and good price. We were surprised with the great large space of the apartment equiped with everything you need for your stay. It will be our choice for the next regatta too.
Everything. Spacious, functional, clean and centrally located apartment.
Very friendly & helpful hosts made us feel at home right away.
All amenities as described. Strongly recommend Haus Braumandl to all future visitors at Bad Ischl and look forward to be back one day too.
Thank you for your kind hospitality.
We had a triple room with own bathroom and shared kitchen in the ground floor unit. Two other rooms were part of this unit, but I didn't meet any other guests. Everything was spotless clean. We had free coffee. Parking was free. Beautiful garden with an amazing view to the mountains and Bad Ischl.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable and located within an easy walk to everything. Karin was a fantastic host and was very accommodating and helpful. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Bad Ischl.
Everything — room was newly-furnished, spacious, had a view of the mountains; entire hotel was very clean; hotel restaurant had good food; 6-minute walk from train station; staff were friendly and spoke English; reasonable prices
This is a fabulous property. The location is perfect - just outside Bad Ischl and plenty of walking close by. Beautiful views from the patio. The house itself is very comfortable and very well equipped. We can't wait to go back.
Nice, new accommodation from a walking distance from Bad Ischl. 2 adults & 2 kids slept comfortably. Nice view to the mountains. Easy access with a key box and code.
spacious apartment with all required amenities, good choice for couples or groups. You can make this as base location and travel to Hallstatt and other villages
