Part of the hotel eg where breakfast was served is so beautiful.
The staff were so attentive and friendly and we got our parking spot reserved with our name on it!!

The hotel was located very centrally in Straubing, no complaints there. The food in the restaurant, where we ate in the evening, wasn't bad and wasn't too expensive. We got three ouzos each on the house, which was nice. We were allowed to store our bikes in hte garage overnight.

Good hotel in central Straubing with easy access to lots of cafes, restaurants, shopping and a nice walk down to the Danube. Friendly personal with good, clean rooms if a bit dated. Room had a fridge with some reasonably priced drinks and snacks. All rooms seem to have Air Conditioning. We didn't need it but it's nice to have and not as common as one would expect in Germany.

Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact.
Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The Main Street, Theresienplatz, has several street Cafés or restaurants. Hotel Gaubodenhof had a large out-door eating area on Theresienplatz.

As a frequent traveller I have seen thousands of superior to extraordinary hotels and stayed in most of them on a global scale. Asam did not ring a bell during booking but it certainly will in the future: professional team with that natural kind of friendliness all over the place. Location is easy to reach, the property itsself a mixed style arrangement from traditional to ultramodern. An unexpected pearl which made my day!

We arrived during the period when the Donau was flooding and thought we would have to severely modify our trip. The owner called ahead to our next hotel in Passau to make sure it was not flooded. He also helped us choose a safe route and recommended a stop in between. He truly saved our trip. The hotel also offers secure bike storage. The hotel is located a short 15 minute walk from centrum and numerous restaurants.

Our room 102 was spacious ,comfortable, light and clean. Shower was very good and there were toiletries in room . Elevator for upper floors . Good inside and secure bicycle storage . On site restaurant was on the city center (square) with good price point . Breakfast was good with eggs made to order upon request . Would stay here again in this great village .

We were a couple, but the main bedroom contained 2 king size beds. There is a second bedroom and sofa beds in the lounge.Everything was clean and tidy. Location is about 10 minute walk from an attractive traffic free town centre. With a car, the centre parking is expensive. Straubing is a convenient centre for access to the glass making industry, Regensburg and Passau etc.

It is also just a short walk from the main market square, and the river walk. It's a beautiful place in a great location, with friendly staff. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast.
