Vista Hinchinbrook, hotel in Ingham

Located in Cardwell, Vista Hinchinbrook provides accommodation with seating area. There is a private entrance at the aparthotel for the convenience of those who stay.

This is a brilliant location hosted by exceptional hosts in Trish and Ian. The continental breakfast was great, the views off the deck are remarkable and the accommodation comfortable and well appointed. I intend to return as it is a great location to base yourself (assumimg you have a car) if you want to spend a few days exploring the Ingham/Cardwell area and its hinterland. [And on that subject, between Wallaman Falls, Hinchinbrook Island, the driving circuits round Cardwell, the Mt Fox region and Ingham and its agricultural hinterland, this is a relatively under-appreciated area of the Qld coast].

    Ingham was a pleasant town.

Ingham was a pleasant town. We travelled from there to see the amazing Walloman Falls. We had coffee at the famous Italian JK's Delicatessan and coffee shop. Also a meal at the historic Station Hotel and a drive to the Forrest Beach. The wetlands are interesting but there are resident crocodiles which is off putting..

The photos are deceiving, the standard room is incredibly small and the air-conditioning comes through the toilet, so imagine. The TV turns off every hour and the WiFi was woeful, unusable. The front door kept jamming so had to be slammed. Very dirty grubby, seedy little dungeon.

In the Tyto Wetland in Ingham you can see nearly as much birds species as in Kakadu. The cemetery in Ingham is a touristic spot. 1 hour drive inland from Ingham you have the Wallaman falls, the biggest in Australia (269m). A bit south you have the Jourama falls which is a beautiful spot with rock pools.

Ingham isn't really a holiday destination.

Ingham isn't really a holiday destination. We stayed there overnight to break our journey down the Bruce Highway. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and although the staff in the tourist information were very friendly and helpful, there was nowhere to go out of the rain.

Scenery. Enjoyed the drive to Lucinda and Halifax.

Scenery. Enjoyed the drive to Lucinda and Halifax. Also down there enjoyed Dungeness Harbour. Went to Wallaman Falls and did the walk to the bottom of the falls. A hard walk but so glad we did it. Allow plenty of time and anyone going must take water.

I would suggest ringing the location direct to book rather than using 'booking.com' to save yourself some money while also ensuring the establishment get what they deserve I paid $135 through 'booking.com' (which I believe the motel recieves about $110) Someone walked in off the street and paid $120 (which the motel gets all)

Easy to locate motel with caring staff. Room had more self catering equipment than some other motels. Reasonable sized room with all required facilities. Motel is directly over the road from TYTO Wetlands and tourist information centre. Wetlands has several marked trails and is a great place to go for a walk. There is also an elevated walkway from the back of the tourist information centre to the main shopping street of Ingham so no need to drive and have difficulty in finding somewhere to park.

The motel had a friendly homely feel about it. The minute I got there I wanted to wash our clothes and rest. Being near the wetlands a red bird (very pretty) came and sat on the cars. We were walking distance from the pub with no beer. We had dinner there. We didn’t get any mosquito or sandfly bites. I was really pleased because I’m allergic to them. My son loved the couch bed. He said that it was the best sleep he’d had since we went on holidays.

Not the Tropixx fault and if you need somewhere to stay to break your trip cannot fault the motel room ...however do not believe the hype about Ingham and it's Italian heritage making it a foodies paradise.... Unless you classify dominoes pizza as Italian food. We stayed on a Sunday night and the only NON fastfood / takeaway open was the hinchbrook hotel serving cold and gluggy ravioli. Pretty bad and overpriced.

We arrived late and the hotel manager was nice enough to stay later and help show us where to park our two trailers and four wheel drives. The next day we had to make a quick emergancy stop at the hospital for one of our children and the manager was kind enough to let my partner and children stay in the air con room a little longer out of the heat while I ducked out to the hospital. He was so lovely to talk to.

Lovely set of apartments centrally located in Ingham. Recently renovated and well designed whilst retaining some of the art deco charms of the original building. Our family of three had a lovely two night stay. Great staff who were on hand to help with any questions or issues. Would highly recommend as a base to check out what Ingham and surrounding area has to offer!

Great one night stay in one of the motel rooms, which was clean and seems to have been modernized recently. Hot water and good water pressure in our private bathroom. Air conditioning ran well. TV, microwave, mini fridge, hot plate, electric kettle, toaster, pots, pans, and plates included in the room. I’d happily stay here again if passing through.

I needed a place for an overnight stay for an ongoing trip the next day. Read about the Motel Ingham accommodation on booking.com site. Place was well located, comfortable. I didn't need onsite meals, but they were available if required. Happy to recommend.

One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in, better than some hotels. The room was a standard motel room and was clean and comfortable. We were offered fresh milk not uht which was wonderful. The motel receptionist was very welcoming and helpful.

Beds super comfortable as were the pillows. Great location for a walk around town. Easy to find and check in. Room good size. Had what we needed to be comfortable. Liked the old hotel feel and the walk up the stairs added to the atmosphere.
