Saint Denis is unique.
Saint Denis is unique. It is not Paris, but it has its own multicultural, multiethnic culture. It is generally safe, but noisy and doesn’t have the same rules as living in central Paris!
Late night travelling is not recommend, unless with a companion or taxi.
I don’t feel unsafe there, but if you are hoping for the quintessential ‘Parisian experience’, I’d strongly suggest you stay within the circular road surrounding central Paris..However, if you want to experience the real multiethnic colourful rainbow of Paris, then this is the place for you!

Ideal location for attending matches at the Stade de France.
Ideal location for attending matches at the Stade de France. The Basilica houses the Royal necropolis and was well worth a visit . There are some restaurants although many were closed at the weekend. Easy access to central Paris by train.

This is an apartment building not a hotel.
This is an apartment building not a hotel. We arrived when we said we would and was unable to find anyone to let us in. In the end we waisted an entire day and had to stay some where else. For us this was a scam.

There's an energy about the area and it has a community...
There's an energy about the area and it has a community feeling that was lacking in other areas. People were extremely helpful even though we had very little French. At the famous sights security was very evident with armed police and police vans everywhere giving the place a very sombre atmosphere. Due to the protests and riots it wasn't the best time to visit Paris, but around our apartment building there was a very relaxed feeling.
Spent 10 days on the property on a long Paris city break. We liked everything, It was clean, it was warm, it was nice, the kitchen had all the necessary utensils and the location perfect for us. Walking distance from the Metro (best way to travel fast in Paris), next to a huge and superb public park, and the people in Saint Denis are very polite and friendly. The fast food close to the property was excellent. Supermarkets in walking distance.
Although you are heading 'out' of Paris, this is a great location if you are coming via Eurostar as we did. Just one RER stop from Gare du Nord and a short walk. Connects well via Metro as well to other areas. Hotel and room was clean. They did have a left luggage service, but we didn't use it. Didn't have breakfast, but it seemed to be popular. I went for a run along the canal a couple of times - better heading north than south.
We really enjoyed our stay. We were in Paris for a rugby game at the Stade de France. You could see it from the building - less than a 5-minute stroll. The apartment was easy to get to - the nearest Metro is probably a 10-minute walk. There are a couple of shops nearby for groceries etc. The apartment itself was clean and tidy. It had everything we needed. The host lives in the building so is at hand only if any help is needed.
This was precisely what we needed after a long day walking/riding through Paris. Bus stops are very close and a major train station is a 12 min walk away. The bed and room were very clean and well lit. The shared bathroom and shower was clean and worked great. It had everything we needed; bed with clean bedding, plenty of outlets to charge our phones, shampoo, soap and wifi. The owners were very responsive and super nice.
This was a deliberately low cost night in a suburban hotel. I came by bicycle so couldn't comment on access by public transport, but you're definitely beyond the peripherique with a good view of a large public housing estate. For what I paid, it was fine, and the breakfast did the job. But you're not in Paris, you're in Saint Denis. Know that before you go.
Location is perfect for the Stade de France, an easy walk to the stadium or the Metro (Line 13) straight into the centre of Paris, Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower etc.
Remi is super helpful and even responded to me after midnight when we had to resolve a situation with his help.
The place was enormous for Paris, with all the things needed. It was clean and the host gave assistance every step of the way. The district is not in the center of Paris but it is near the train station, so there are no problems to get to all the sights. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff and lovely and clean hotel. A little small for 3 nights but spotlessly clean (with very friendly cleaning staff!) Breakfast is great for the price (on a day with no event on). Super easy access from the highway! Free safe parking a huge bonus!!
Plenty of space, quirky apartment with lots of character, helpful and friendly owner, good communication. Supermarket nearby and boulangerie with great pastries next door. Easy to use the metro to get to central Paris.
Perfect location. Metro station is 3 minutes away by walk. Safe parking for car. Perfect choice for spending most of the day in Paris center but want to stay in a clean, comfortable room for the night.
Great continental breakfast, with a good choice.
Perfect for a match or concert in the Stade de France as it is very close to the Stadium and the M13 Porte de Paris metro station.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. Secure parking. Great location for Stade de France yet easy to get into Paris City centre on RER.
