The hotel has a very nice atmosphere, and the staff went out of their way to help us with a tour on Good Friday (a day when everything’s closed), which was the highlight of my trip, so thank you!! Very helpful and friendly. Location’s perfect, could not have been better. Bed was very comfortable and was lucky enough to share the dorm with only 1 other person which was lovely. The fan works perfect. Free water (and coffee) all day. Totally recommend!!

What a lovely hostel!!!!
The people are so friendly and the food is great.
I had a private room and loved how it clean it was (finally a room WITHOUT cockroaches) and a hot shower.
Hammocks, a small pool, roof terrace, makes you want to hang out all day and have some chill time.
I do want to mention that if you walk the wrong way there are a lot of drunks trying to get your attention. So just keep the direction of the cathedral 😊
It was nice to meet other travellers and take a trip to the volcano together.
100% recommend Casa Verde.

Kind hosts, they were helpful and ensured we had a new fan when ours didn't work. Good that there was breakfast and water included. Able to leave bags whilst exploring the city after check out.
Fly into El Salvador International Airport, approximately 50km from Santa Ana. Domestic travellers can take a 2-hour bus journey from San Salvador. No direct water routes available. Transfers may be required.
The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is El Salvador International Airport. It's approximately 80 kilometres from Santa Ana, offering numerous flights and good transport links, making it the best choice.
In Santa Ana, El Salvador, public transport is primarily via buses, known locally as 'colectivos'. These run frequently throughout the city and surrounding areas. Taxis are also readily available. For shorter distances, walking or cycling is feasible. Driving is an option, but be aware of heavy traffic during peak hours.
The best area to stay in Santa Ana, El Salvador, is the city centre, known for its colonial architecture, vibrant markets, and proximity to key attractions like the Santa Ana Cathedral and Tazumal ruins. It offers a variety of accommodation options suitable for all budgets.

You see a lot of crap online of wether or not Santa Ana is safeS we had zero problems and never felt unsafe at all. Santa Ana and El Salvador in general have made huge inprovements in safety these last years. The town is nice , you'll strugle to find a building with more than 2 stories. It has preserved it's old world charm. Not supermany things to do or see but a good base to go exploring from

The road especially the side streets are horrible.
The road especially the side streets are horrible. Needs a traffic officer in all the main road that are under construction even at night. I closed my eyes hoping that my husband won’t hit a vehicle as he drove on tight traffic areas. I’m worried that our rental car won’t break down on the unpaved roads- lots of rocks and open pits.
The Santa Ana people are very helpful and kind.

I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral.
I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral. As an amateur photographer, I also liked the colorful and dilapidated buildings around the cathedral. They made a great backdrop for street photography. Unfortunately, I spent only a day here so I was not able to see or do many things in the area. It is a great location to jump off the Ruta de las Flores though. I’m definitely happy that I decided to start the route here and not from San Salvador.

Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains.
Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains. The market is fun to explore and cathedral and theatre are gorgeous. Outside of town there are ruins, volcanoes, and a lake within an hour. The town doesn't have much tourism which gives it a more authentic feel, but also means you won't find many good restaurants around the square or at night.
I absolutely loved my stay at this property. The staff, Victor and Diego, were exceptional. From the moment we landed to the end of our stay, the staff was attentive and proactive to making sure we were cared for. The views are stunning and the aesthetics of the property/ hotel room is very chic. I would stay here in again and every time, especially at the affordable price point. There also TV with great channels, hot water in shower, comfy beds, and great food!
We went in as guests but left as friends, solely because of Juan's hospitality. Juan is an excellent host; always smiling and attentive to our needs, offering great suggestions on our activity-planning, and providing rides for a very reasonable price. The breakfasts provided each day were varied and tasty; in fact, the pupusas we had at Juan's place were one of the best we had on our trip. Thanks Juan (and Jocelyn) for a memorable stay!
Best hostal in Central America so far. Marvin, Nestor and the rest of the crew are really nice, welcoming and willing to help. The hostal itself is well located and is perfectly sized with about 8 rooms a common area and a terrace. The rooms are really clean with A/C and really comfortable beds. Breakfast is even included and is really nice as well. But above all the people who work here make it the best place in Santa Ana.
Simply the best hostel I've stayed in the last 4 months of traveling.
Large beds, nice pools, cozy atmosphere, well equipped kitchen, comfortable TV room and the best ever staff. Adriana does her job with love, she's always available for anything you need and knows absolutely everything about Santa Ana and the surrounding region. I spent a week at Pool House and felt truly like home. Every hostel should be like this!
It’s got everything. Restaurant and bar, swimming pool, air conditioning (for my private room), hammocks, kitchen, snack and drinks for sale, and everything else you can think of. It also offer transportation to Santa Ana volcano hike with lunch at coatepeque lake ($20). It’s very easy to meet people there. Location is great too. 5 minute walk to bus station for buses to ruta flores and 8 minute walk to cathedral.
It’s a clean, safe and welcoming place. Easy to get on buses, which are only blocks away, to the lake or for the volcano hike after breakfast. There are good pupusarias around for any time of the day. Chocobanana from cross street grocery store is my new favorite. No matter it’s a short pass-through Santa Ana or taking breaks from a long journey, this place is a great choice.
What a gem. Carlos the owner is very friendly and helpful, providing all of the contacts necessary for transfers, tours etc.
The hostel has a range of accommodation and our ensuite room was terrific. Large enough to feel spacious, nicely fitted out bathroom and a view over the roof tops in Santa Ana. The rooftop terrace was a great place to enjoy a sundowner.
The hostel is in a great location in Santa Ana and there are two goats which is a unique experience. The people who were working at the hostel were very nice and informative about where we can go and what transportation we need to get to get to other areas in El Salvador.
The room was big, aircon worked well as did WiFi. The staff were friendly and the inside of the hotel was a quiet oasis when compared to Santa Ana! There are a couple of pretty average restaurants that are walkable and ample on-street parking outside the front door.
The hostel have multiple rooms to chill and all the equipment you need (kitchen, laundry room…). The owner is personally there and he gives you tips about trips and nightlife. He wants to make sure you have the best experience in Santa Ana and it’s surroundings.
Luis and his family were incredible at looking after us. Luis had so much information about Santa ana and getting around to different tourist attractions. His knowledge saved us a lot of money, and he was always more than happy to help us.
Hotel is on a centric location, two blocks away from the main square and close to restaurants and shops. It felt like a safe spot. However it was close to other hotels which might have better value.
nice, clean room with little balcony, decent bar, right on water, the man running the place was the only person during our week in El Salvador we came across who spoke English, good breakfast
good location. short walk to the plaza and various bus stops for trips to volcan Santa ana and ruta Flores etc.
clean, good WiFi, fairly basic but clean and decent enough kitchen for use.
Very nice homestay a bit outside of Santa Ana. Amazing value for money, very friendly hosts and clean room with a shared bathroom. They provide a kitchen, drinking water and breakfast.
The room was very basic but spacious. The AC was nice. Breakfast was amazing and the lady that makes breakfast is so friendly. She is the best staff member.
