The staff was really friendly, the amenities were great and really clean, the rooftop terrace was amazing. The breakfast we were served here was hands down the best breakfast we‘ve ever had in a hostel - every day a little different but all fresh and handmade.

I only had a 24 hour stay and decided to arrange a history / walking tour, which I arranged through Guruwalk. My guide was Fatima. It was the best way to learn more about this really busy city, which can be a little intimidating when you first arrive. There is a big security presence (police and army), so it felt safe. It’s a good base for the Santa Ana Volcano.

Very nice city to spend a few weeks at, I suggest to rent a car at ricks rental (best price) rent a scooter , go see waterfall and volcanos and visit a few waterparks or pools, museum, cathedral visit to the top, event usually weekly, theaters also has shows and culture center for under $5 , you can find hostal as low as $8/night and hotel up to $55 with pools and breakfast, visit pyramids and lake, lagoon is worth to see, the city as many shops and food stands and many bars made for tourists

Santa Ana is a good base for tours and worth spending some time in the city - good pupasas and street food in numerous markets. Pupusas at La Ceiba restaurant are good and inexpensive. Beautiful historic theatre, free open air swimming pool with river water, emerging cafes and restaurants. Charming and authentic.

You see a lot of crap online of wether or not Santa Ana is safeS we had zero problems and never felt unsafe at all. Santa Ana and El Salvador in general have made huge inprovements in safety these last years. The town is nice , you'll strugle to find a building with more than 2 stories. It has preserved it's old world charm. Not supermany things to do or see but a good base to go exploring from

The road especially the side streets are horrible.
The road especially the side streets are horrible. Needs a traffic officer in all the main road that are under construction even at night. I closed my eyes hoping that my husband won’t hit a vehicle as he drove on tight traffic areas. I’m worried that our rental car won’t break down on the unpaved roads- lots of rocks and open pits.
The Santa Ana people are very helpful and kind.

We had a great time staying here in Santa Ana, great central location and really good value for money. The host Luis and his family are super welcoming and friendly. Luis is like a walking guidebook at gave us lots of info on where to eat, where to go and how to get there. They also made us a really tasty breakfast with coffee every morning - would highly recommend Casa Vieja when staying in Santa Ana.
Great new hostel with a lovely vibe, free coffee, spacious areas to hang out and a big kitchen. The owners are lovely locals who took us to a beautiful waterfall and on a coffee tour, all for free. It's located within walking distance to the local markets and bus stations, which is useful. I will be staying here again next time I go to Santa Ana :)
I felt like be in home, the staffs were so friendly and the room was really cozy. Great breakbast and they helped me with all informations about vulcano tour in Santa Ana and the location was really great for to do everything that i wanted.
The owner was amazing. Provided so much information about Santa Ana and helped organised activities. Great comfy room with a free upgrade. good chilled vibes.
