The entire surrounding area is covered in snow during winter, providing tranquil serenity. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Had the most incredible stay at Satoyama Jujo. My wife and I were visiting Japan and in search of a nature retreat from Tokyo for a few nights, and this resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The room was quiet and serene, the baths had stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the food was impeccable. The service was so thoughtful as well; on our last day we were snowed in and couldn't get back to Tokyo, but the hotel made sure we could extend our reservation one night and offered a complimentary taxi to the train station the next day. Hope to be back again one day!

The atmosphere was great and very traditional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The traditional breakfasts and dinners were amazing. Also they had a several Onsen options from private to public. We would stay again if we came to the myoko Kogan region.
This is a small ryokan with ensuite toilets in every room run by a friendly and obliging elderly couple in great location 1km from Alpenblick skifield and 400m from Alpenblick spa with its famous black water pools and great Japanese restaurant. There is not a shared bathroom in the western sense, but a simple but authentic private onsen in house. The hot water and teabags and snacks in the corridor were much appreciated as was the hot drink and biscuits at reception on returning from skiing .
The size of the rooms was excellent with a nice view of the mountains. There were plenty of facilities with a wine bar, coffee shop, restaurants, and a games room for the kids. The onsens (hot springs were fantastic, both inside and outside. Situated in a very convenient location, close to the ski resort and restaurants. This is an excellent hotel, highly recommended 👌
We get the full experience of a traditional tatami room with Futons for beds. The room was cozy, place was clean and the internet was fantastically fast and reliable. Air conditioning and electric heater was provided as it can get very cold.
Traditional tatami may rooms are very clean and roomy and a great experience. Futon beds are as comfortable as a western bed. The breakfast is fantastic. Easy walk to all restaurants.
Great sized room with stunning views. We had the traditional futon to sleep on which was surprisingly comfortable. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It was great being able to grab a yummy breakfast before starting the day. Excellent location, walking distance to ski lifts and the main street. I didn't use the onsen but a few travel companions did and said it was fantastic.
Location: it was across from Echigo-Yuzawa station and it was easy to get to the hotel. Rooms: they were spacious and the futons got made every day. Onsen: fantastic onsen facilities that made our stay more pleasant. Breakfast: good variety of Western and Japanese food. The restaurant was big and accommodated everyone. Coffee and amazake were provided free of charge which was a lovely gesture.
Onsen bath, a vast japanese style room with tatami matt and futon, and nice breakfast. The onsen bath opens from 14:00 to 9:30 the next day. Basically the whole night.
