Guest house Hotobil B&B 潤 An inn that enjoys breakfast has 2 rooms, both with a tatami (woven straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and a flat-screen TV. Guests sleep in traditional futon bedding on the floor. Bathroom facilities are shared. Very good host and lovely breakfast. Very good hospitality. One of our party rolled her ankle and host went out of her way to make sure her ankle was alright and provided a walking stick as well.
Heguri
Basic Japanese-style rooms overlook the temple compound, and feature a tatami (woven mat) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. They are fitted with air conditioning and a safe. We loved to stay at this special temple complex for two nights. It is wonderful to live next to practicing monks, to join their fire ritual every morning and to wander around the complex in the evening with all the lanterns on. The food is well prepared, we especially liked the dinner (breakfast was okay). The room is very spacious and we slept very well on the futon mattresses. I found one mattress a bit to thin, but I found some spare ones in the closet so I slept on two and that made it perfect. We made a reservation for a sutra transcription lesson and that was nice as well. The monk explained some things which we really liked! Overall an experience we will not forget!!

A spacious public bath and foot bath is available for guests to relax in. Free luggage before and after check-in is available on site. Free WiFi is available at the entire building. Really friendly, welcoming staff with good English, welcomed us with tea, showed us to our rooms and advised us about the local areas. Cypress room private onsen was incredible, we booked this in advance (around £25 for an hour) at sunset and had incredible views. One of my favourite onsen experiences of the trip. Public onsen spaces are also nice with multiple baths. Really close to the Nara parks and can easily walk into town for food.

Friendly staff in a clean and quiet ryokan style hotel right next to Naramachi, central Nara, and the park. The rooms were nice with a tatami area as well as a little reading space next to the windows overlooking the pond.
-Onsen , it was nice, clean, big with a lot of amenities, all you needed was there. There was also some refreshment for afterward, a tatami room to relax -amenities -breakfast was also enjoyable with lots of items. -staff was friendly and helpful specially the morning staff at the breakfast buffet. -ice dispenser machine
The rooms are cute and traditional style, very clean and the tatami is really comfortable. The onsen is perfect for ending the day. Really close to the Park, the staff is very helpful. Everything was perfect!
Very nice place to stay at and an interesting experience to be in a hotel with tatami everywhere and you will walk barefoot inside the hotel. Then onsen is really nice and the rooms are cozy.
Great location as we did not expect the hotel is just located right next to the Nara Station. We were carrying big luggages but the hotel is just so accessible. Across the road, it's busiest street of Nara. All the way till the end you can find the legendary mochi place. But what makes the stay experience so great is that there's tatami flooring in the entire hotel. There's also free flow ice-cream provided after onsen.
Extremely friendly staff, the kaiseki dinner was delicious with a lot of variety, same for the breakfast (opted for Japanese style). Everything was clean, the room was amazing, clean yukatas and haoris were provided daily, the futon beds were very comfortable. This Ryokan is very well located as it's very close to the Kintetsu-Nara train station (with direct trains to both Kyoto and Osaka) and the main streets while still in a very quiet area. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in Nara, either for just one night or for a few days!
The onsen was amazing and the breakfast was one of the most unique experiences in Nara! Recommend if you want to live the Japanese experience having and amazing time in a tatami room, sleeping in a Futon and having an amazing view from an onsen ❤️
The room was perfectly cleaned and was convenient and quiet, typical tatami floors and futon bed to sleep on. The area is quiet but very central and within walking distance to all major attractions. The staff was very helpful and polite and they accommodated all of my requests. The private onsen is amazing to have and I enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend staying here!
The Ryokan is literally 1min walk from the station, in a peatonal street full of shops. The personal was very kind and they were always trying to help. They took care of our luggage before the check in and after the check out. The room was amazing with tatami floor and they left a yukata for each gest. The Onsen was amazing and very relaxing. The breakfast was incredible, everything in the menu was amazing and very tasty. 100% recommended
Lovely spacious tatami room, very comfortable futon. Room did have ensuite bathroom, but we enjoyed the nice big hot shared baths available, much like going to a sento. Yukata were provided too. Teas and senbei in the room were very welcoming.
