Nara Park, Nara
The ryokan also offers free use of bicycles. Kofuku-ji is 1.1 km from Musashino, while Kasuga Taisha is 300 metres from the property. The nearest airport is Osaka Itami Airport, 39 km from the property. This felt like less of a hotel stay and more of an experience as a whole. If you are exploring Nara I would recommend taking at least a day to just enjoy this hotel stay. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff who helped us with every little thing, from taking our luggage to ordering a taxi for our departure. We were served luxurious meals for dinner and breakfast in our room, by staff who set our table and made our bed. The location was magical with beautiful nature and deers roaming around outside. They had an amazing natural hot spring bath as well. Would warmly recommend this place.

Guest house Hotobil B&B 潤 An inn that enjoys breakfast has 2 rooms, both with a tatami (woven straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and a flat-screen TV. Guests sleep in traditional futon bedding on the floor. Bathroom facilities are shared. Our host cooked us an excellent Japanese style breakfast that was delicious and very filling . It was a great way to start our day.
Heguri
Basic Japanese-style rooms overlook the temple compound, and feature a tatami (woven mat) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. They are fitted with air conditioning and a safe. Staying here was a wonderful experience for our family, including 3 kids, ages 10, 15, 17. The location was magical and serene, the food delicious and unique. Wish we could have stayed longer to participate in more of the educational opportunities. Took a train, then a local bus as close as we could and then walked the last 3/4 mile, which worked out fine since we only had day packs on us, but you may want to plan your transportation ahead of time if this wouldn't work for you.

Great wooden bathtub and amazing bathroom products (full Aesop range). Tasty, varied and well portioned meals. You really feel spoiled by the staff, e.g. alcohol is included with meals, free minibar, complimentary matcha tea and snacks.

Dorogawa Onsen, Tenkawa
An Asian breakfast is available daily at the ryokan. There is a coffee shop, and packed lunches are also available. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. The location was picturesque and overall incredibly pleasant to look around at. The property itself is very well maintained, truly delivers the classic ryokan experience, onsen are amazing and very enjoyable, the staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful. The food was something else - both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were delicious, filling and a great pleasure to partake in. Overall, would highly recommend, I had a blast staying at Kadojin.

Kakimotoya is located near Mount Shigi, a 10-minute taxi ride from JR Oji Train Station. Featuring traditional architecture, public baths and seasonal cuisine, it provides Japanese-style rooms with a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Some rooms have a private outdoor bath. Amazing meals, and modern facilities, comparing to other ryokans we visited during our trip. View was amazing, but location can only be accessed by car or bus

Nara
Soundproof rooms feature a serene interior with a tatami (woven-straw) floor, low furniture and shoji paper screens. Amenities include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a fridge and toiletries. Guests sleep in Japanese futon bedding, and the rooms come with an all-wooden bathroom. A very comfortable tatami-mat room with a deep full soak tub. The location in regards to Nara Park was fantastic and I had a wonderful view of Tōdai-ji in the mornings. Things were very quiet, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was everything it could be including walking me through all the amenities they had to offer. They also provided local area maps with all the main attractions and let me know how best to navigate what I wanted to do which helped quite a bit with planning how I spent my time.

The rooms are cute and traditional style, very clean and the tatami is really comfortable. The onsen is perfect for ending the day. Really close to the Park, the staff is very helpful. Everything was perfect!
Very nice place to stay at and an interesting experience to be in a hotel with tatami everywhere and you will walk barefoot inside the hotel. Then onsen is really nice and the rooms are cozy.
Great location as we did not expect the hotel is just located right next to the Nara Station. We were carrying big luggages but the hotel is just so accessible. Across the road, it's busiest street of Nara. All the way till the end you can find the legendary mochi place. But what makes the stay experience so great is that there's tatami flooring in the entire hotel. There's also free flow ice-cream provided after onsen.
hot spring or onsen
Extremely friendly staff, the kaiseki dinner was delicious with a lot of variety, same for the breakfast (opted for Japanese style). Everything was clean, the room was amazing, clean yukatas and haoris were provided daily, the futon beds were very comfortable. This Ryokan is very well located as it's very close to the Kintetsu-Nara train station (with direct trains to both Kyoto and Osaka) and the main streets while still in a very quiet area. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in Nara, either for just one night or for a few days!
Very nice ryokan and very nice room. Private onsen was comfortable, and the personnel very attentive. Thank you very much!
The onsen was amazing and the breakfast was one of the most unique experiences in Nara! Recommend if you want to live the Japanese experience having and amazing time in a tatami room, sleeping in a Futon and having an amazing view from an onsen ❤️
The room was perfectly cleaned and was convenient and quiet, typical tatami floors and futon bed to sleep on. The area is quiet but very central and within walking distance to all major attractions. The staff was very helpful and polite and they accommodated all of my requests. The private onsen is amazing to have and I enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend staying here!
The Ryokan is literally 1min walk from the station, in a peatonal street full of shops. The personal was very kind and they were always trying to help. They took care of our luggage before the check in and after the check out. The room was amazing with tatami floor and they left a yukata for each gest. The Onsen was amazing and very relaxing. The breakfast was incredible, everything in the menu was amazing and very tasty. 100% recommended
Lovely spacious tatami room, very comfortable futon. Room did have ensuite bathroom, but we enjoyed the nice big hot shared baths available, much like going to a sento. Yukata were provided too. Teas and senbei in the room were very welcoming.
