Obama Onsen, Unzen
With sea views, Iseya, Seaview Private Onsen Bath is situated in Unzen and has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift. The ryokan also features free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. During our 16-day holiday in Japan, my husband & I, together with another couple, stayed in 7 ryokans/hotels & Iseya is the BEST! The hotel is new & clean & the facilities are so good! We opted for dinner & breakfast in the hotel & we were so happy & satisfied with the quality & freshness of the food & service level of the attending staff who went beyond their call of duty to make us comfortable! Special mention goes to a male service staff (I think he is the supervisor; forgot his name but was Mayama or something) who served us dinner on 15 Nov. We wanted to order a bottle of red wine & sake to go with our dinner & asked for his recommendation. The sake he recommended was so good, we decided to buy 2 extra bottles to bring home! When this same male service staff heard from us that we had to rush off to catch the ferry to Kumamoto the next morning & breakfast only starts at 7.30am, he left word for our breakfast to be ready earlier. We were pleasantly surprised & so grateful that a new batch of service staff were waiting for us at the dining room when we went down to checkout at 7.20am on 16 Nov. Really fantastic service! I would strongly recommend anyone looking for accommodation in Nagasaki to book Iseya! You won't regret it!! Mrs Chia Singapore 15-16 November 2023
Nagasaki
The Japanese-style guestrooms offer both air-conditioning and heating facilities, and an en suite bathroom. Each room is equipped with a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and a TV with cable channels. This ryokan is about as fancy as you can get. It is not in town and required a taxi or shuttle to get there; fortunately they provide a free shuttle but it's on a schedule. Because it's on a hill above the city, it's peaceful and the view is fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful and they spoke English. Signs and information were in English. The room rate included meals for which this ryokan is well known. The meals were exquisite, traditional food artistically prepared. We didn't try the public bath, but it looked clean and was empty. In the waiting area for the public bath, there were massage chairs and foot massage machines that were wonderful after a day of walking around the city. The room had a soaking tub we enjoyed. We felt pampered.

The location was perfect right next to Unzen Jigoku and waking up to the view outside our hotel room was peaceful and prayerful. The private onsen in the room was heavenly and we took advantage of it sometimes multiple times a day. The meals (breakfast and dinner courses) were delicious and gave us a wide range of Japanese dishes. It was also nice to be able to walk down in our Japanese PJ's to relaxingly eat and gaze out the window on Unzen Jigoku. The service was very attentive. The rooms were very spacious.

Air-conditioned rooms have an interior in neutral colours, and come with a seating area, an LCD TV and a fridge. All rooms come with an attached bathroom with toiletries. Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding. I loved the location. The view from the open-air bath is almost as good as from Mount Inasayama. The hotel is about 3 km from Nagasaki Station, but we took a taxi, which was very reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of food. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again when I'm in Nagasaki.

Extremely clean. Old style hotel. Great room and very good size with towels and yukata if you need. Hot tea and water provided. We enjoyed the breakfast. Japanese style but not too overwhelming. Close to unzen centre ad there are restaurants for evening food there and plenty onsens
Rooftop open-air onsen, location, traditional touches like yukatas to wear around the hotel and shoji screen in the room. Selection of items to buy in the store downstairs.
Loved the spacious 8th floor tatami room with a fantastic view of the Castle, Bridge and sea. Also the wonderful onsen and toiletries. Helpful staff.
Room was spacious and comfortable, with own private onsen. They offered different patterned yukata for us to choose! We ordered dinner and breakfast and they offered the best meals we had to-date fr hotel/ ryokan. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Free coffee / tea at lobby were a bonus.
Good location. Rooms were on the small side but fine. and hot spring / onsen were nice and well used. Useful convenience store on site and parking also worked well. Friendly staff.
Great for experiencing a proper Japanese style room with tatami mat floors and a futon bed. It’s also very spacious! The facilities are clean and modern. The couple who run the guesthouse are lovely and very helpful. They speak good English so easy to communicate if you don’t know Japanese.
Excellent modern ryokan with very hospitable staff and amazing fresh and high quality food. We were served by the owner and his wife who were humble and friendly people. A family of 4, we stayed 2 nights in a room with private onsen. The room was modern, clean and the fact that we had a private onsen to ourselves was a winner. Highly recommend this hotel.
We loved the kaiseki dinner and beautiful breakfast served here as part of the ryokan experience. The onsen here have a number of options both indoor and outdoor. Staff were helpful although not much English was spoken.
With beautiful city views from its best rooms and a top floor onsen, this hotel has a magical setting to relax and enjoy hot spring life in Nagasaki. The buffet dinners and breakfasts are impressive, with quality choices in a well-run restaurant. We also appreciated a voucher for drinks. A great experience, easy to travel to and from the city centre using the free shuttle bus.
This is a cozy hotel with traditional rooms and a small onsen. The owners are incredibly helpful and very sweet. The location is convenient and within walking distance to the town and they provide parking if you inform them in advance. The rooms here are really special - they are huge tatami rooms with comfortable futons. The rooms have recently been renovated so that they keep their traditional feeling but are not dusty or dated. Every thing is very clean.
