The dinner is FANTASTIC - it is beautifully presented but also tastes amazing, and it’s so fun to cook some of it at the table. The staff (especially the lady who checked us in and served us dinner) is so attentive and helpful - and a great chef. We stayed 2 nights and spent the day in the middle dipping in an out of the private onsen, exploring the surrounding village and just chilling in our room which were tatami style. the whole place was beautifully rustic - it felt like stepping back in time and being properly pampered. The snacks and green tea in the room, and downstairs morning coffee area are an added bonus! we will 100% come back here and will recommend to all our friends!

This 4-star ryokan offers full-day security and luggage storage space. The ryokan features parking on-site, a hot spring bath and free shuttle service. Perfect example of rustic Japanese luxury. The staff welcomed us warmly, and made us feel at ease, even as English speakers (thank you Hiyashita-san!) with limited Japanese. Loved the thoughtful meals and happy we booked the room type with a private onsen. The shared onsen and irori were also charming. Even though the ryokan was fully booked, the common areas felt peaceful and never busy. The ryokan has its own rice field, too.
