The service was exceptional and the staff made us feel very welcome and at home. We especially loved the home cooked meals which were so delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms were comfortable and cosy warm. The hosts were so lovely and helpful. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return.

Shinmeikan is a truly amazing ryokan/ onsen. The whole building just oozes authenticity. Great tatami style rooms overlooking the river, super friendly staff who will help you with all your needs. Great onsen baths, especially the cave bad is spectacular. Dinner and breakfast are equally high quality and display a variety of Japanese cuisine. Absolute perfect place if you want to experience traditional Japanese onsen style ryokan.

It was a fantastic onsen hotel that exceeded our expectations. The Irori room with sake was great and we were able to meet a lot of other guests. Stargazing was amazing as well!
