Air condioining, futon matteresses and en suite bathrooms are featured. Each room comes with a fidge and an electric kettle. This hotel was a very pleasant surprise in many ways. It's a thirty minute shuttle ride from Kaga Onsen Station (be sure to reserve the shuttle ahead of time). We reserved a room with our own open-air bath, which was awesome! It was very relaxing. However, the best was yet to come - the public outdoor onsen was THE BEST we've been to. Very nice and the view in the morning is gorgeous! We decided to have an early dinner. This hotel is a little bit different from other hotels that serve dinner, but it was interesting and actually nice. You help yourself to your own drinks (except sake) and tempura - but you can drink and eat as much as you like. For breakfast, you help yourself to your drinks and salad. Although the food is good, it is nothing exceptional. There were several delightful surprises which we immensely enjoyed. The first was the taiko drums performance in the lobby in the evening. It was AWESOME!! Eat an early dinner so you will finish in time for this performance. We enjoyed a pudding snack while waiting for the taiko performance. In the morning, tokoroten was provided. Both snacks were great! If you have time, take a walk through the little onsen town. Although it's small, it's quite nice and interesting.

Amazing stay all around. The staff were extremely friendly and the hot springs by the river were fantastic. The meals were by far the best japanese food I've ever had. Located in a beautiful town with lots of shops and a nice walking trail along the river. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a traditional onsen ryokan experience.
Hotel provide shuttle service from Kagaonsen JR station. Foods service is good
Kana was AMAZING and made the stay so lovely! The room was incredible and the private tub was spectacular. I really loved the view of the temple from our room. It was also great to try the regional food. The presentation was beautiful. We enjoyed our authentic experience at this very traditional Japanese inn!
It was nice to be able to book private baths for free each day. The room had a lovely view of the river. There is a free shuttle bus service to and from the Kago Onsen JR train station. It is a short walk to the town centre through a picturesque pathway near the river. It is also close to the start of one end of the river gorge walk which was the best part of Kago Onsen in our trip.
Activities and the reading room. The overnight private onsen.
Atmosphere as real Onsen Ryokan with best kindness staff.
Situated in Kaga town. Nightly Taiko performance is great. Lovely traditional onsen and rooms.
Nice ryokan, in the centre of the small Onsen town. Nice Onsen inside. Good meals.
I appreciate the Ryokan and Private onsen space - spacious, adequate facilities for a night or so. Staff are polite. Free bus shuttle available to and fro the station. Walking distance to nearby shops and restaurants (5-10mins). You get to experience the real rural area and explore at your own pace.
Beautiful Ryokan, you really get a sense of the history there, we loved exploring the place. The hospitality was also amazing, we thought we were stranded at the station but they called us and picked us up with a private bus even though we arrived late. The room was stunning and so was the public onsen. Special mention to the staff, she had amazing English and helped us with everything, arranging buses to the local tourist spots and picking us up. Highly recommend, an amazing experience.
