The ryokan will provide guests with air-conditioned units with a tatami, a kettle, a fridge, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a bidet. At the ryokan, all units are soundproof. The units are equipped with heating facilities. I did not realise that I had booked a traditional Japanese Hotel. However this added to the charm. We were greeted at the door and removed our shoes. The family room relied on futons for bed and a low table. Very spacious compared to some of the more standard rooms that we have been in. So if this is not exciting then the location is fantastic - almost in the A Bomb Dome itself. Local restaurants are also good and we enjoyed okonomiyaki. Sadly we were not brave enough to try the 7th floor baths.

Rooms feature a traditional minimalist interior with a tatami (woven-straw) floor, Japanese decorations and traditional futon bedding. They are fitted with air conditioning, a TV and a bathroom with a shower, bathtub and toilet. Everything was exceptional. We loved the Oyado Tsukiusagi! It had the most comfortable futon beds we experienced through our 5 weeks of traveling through Japan, a beautiful and clean room, and the lady at the hotel was very nice and welcoming. We really love Miyajima so we were very happy that we could stay at the island through the night.

Miyajima
The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon beddings. A flat-screen TV, a fridge, and an electric kettle with green tea are included. Yukata robes and a private toilet are included in each room, but bathrooms are shared. The shared bath is available from 16:00 to 23:00. Great stay in a historic building with a wonderful view from the top floor. The ryokan is very close to all the sights and is run by a lovely couple. The futons are comfortable and the private Onsen was nice. Breakfast was great, made from fresh local ingredients. Unfortunately no dinner is served on Mondays (we knew this beforehand) and because it was winter no restaurants (that we could find) were open for dinner. The local convenience store was our savior ;-) and after using the microwave at the ryokan to heat things up, we had a lovely meal in our room. If breakfast is anything to go by, we sure will have to come back sometime to try out dinner at the ryokan :-). Staying overnight is a great way to experience the island without the crowds and makes you appreciate the special place it is even more.

Lovely place. Excellent onsen. Very good food. Very friendly and efficient staff. The waiters at dinner were particularly attentive and kind and the chef remembered my wife’s food intolerances from the original booking, so we were very impressed. If you want a ryokan experience - yukata, onsen, traditional food - with a little extra comfort this place is highly recommended.
View out the window to Miyajima was gorgeous. Loved the room with both beds and a futon tatami area. Breakfast was great. Heaps of options, fresh and yummy! Onsen was lovely! Shuttle bus from the station was great and timetabling of it was great for us to get in and out of town.
Japanese style room, traditional breakfast and dinner, free use of yukata and onsen bath for two, very nice staff
The hotel itself gives is beautifully designed and gives off a traditional ryokan vibe. The location is perfect and is a great option for those who plan to stay a night. They also provide yukatas and sandals for use around the island. The onsen bath was also very pleasant and I was lucky enough to receive a free room upgrade. Would definitely visit again.
The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was spacious with lovely views of the ocean. Deers were roaming around freely outside. Dinner was a traditional Japanese meal with many courses, all lovely. While we had dinner our futons were laid out for us and they were very comfortable, we all slept very well. My daughter and I visited the on-site onsen which was spacious and had a very nice outlook. We loved wearing our Yukata’s for dinner and breakfast, made the whole experience very special.
The room had great views and was spacious. The futons were comfortable. The personnel was really kind and helpful, giving tips for where to go in the island and nice restaurants. The ryokan has a two onsens you can book for free for one hour, one of them with a nice view to a small garden, really nice. There is a kitchen where you can cook yourself which is big and a nice common area. We could not enjoy the garden as we stayed only one night. I would stay here again. Good value for the money spent.
This is a traditional Japanese style hotel: futons, onsen in the hotel. tatami mats. Really nice staff. Super conveniently placed for the ferry terminal and the shrine. Well worth getting up early and getting to the shrine before everyone arrives on the first ferries. Same in the evening. Stay here and see for yourself.
Spacious ryokan, friendly and helpful hotel staff, a shop at the lobby for last minute shopping, near shops and sightseeing places. They provided yukatas, water bottles, coffee, tea bags and delicious biscuits. They also setup your futon beds while we were out during dinner time.
Classic traditional ryokan (Japanese B&B) with an onsen (hot spring). Beautiful place. Immaculate service. I recommend taking half board to enjoy a fantastic elaborated dinner served in the room. The onsen facilities are great and there’s also table-tennis and karaoke 🎤
The place is awesome! Best Ryokan we've been in Japan. The room was very big, the futon very comfortable, and they provide you a very nice kimono! The room was very warm. The lady speaks a decent English. She offers the onsen upon reservation in the morning, and it's very nice. Third floor: common room with view in the entire bay and the pagoda! They also offered us a lift to the pier, since it was raining heavily!
