An Asian breakfast is available daily at the ryokan. There is a coffee shop, and packed lunches are also available. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in.

The location was picturesque and overall incredibly pleasant to look around at. The property itself is very well maintained, truly delivers the classic ryokan experience, onsen are amazing and very enjoyable, the staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful. The food was something else - both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were delicious, filling and a great pleasure to partake in. Overall, would highly recommend, I had a blast staying at Kadojin.

Located in Tenkawa, Misenkan offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. This 2-star ryokan offers luggage storage space. Guests can enjoy river views.

All rooms in the ryokan are fitted with a flat-screen TV. Rooms are equipped with a shared bathroom. All units have a desk.

The meals are the best of our whole trip in Japan. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is nested by the creek yet right across the street from the bus stop. The location is perfect. The host gave us a ride to the nearby public Onsen and gave us a tour to the Tenkawa Daibenziten-Sha Shrine, where the Emperor of the Southern Court had lived around 700 years ago. We took a less than two-hour scenic hike to the Dorogawa Onsen village, and 25 minutes bus back. Loved their private bath which includes both indoor and outdoor tubs all to yourself but needs to book with the host.

Situated in Tenkawa, Atarashiya Ryokan provides accommodation with seating area. Each accommodation at the 2-star ryokan has mountain views, and guests can enjoy access to a hot spring bath and a public bath. The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi.

This is an exceptional place! Tugged away in the magical village of Dorogawa Onsen, their Ryokan welcomes its guests with care, very friendly staff and all the comfort one could hope for. The food was delicious and the Onsen perfect to wind down after a day of hiking and cherish the uniqueness if Japanese culture and geology. Compared to other Onsen Ryokans of the same level, the price was reasonable and even staying only one night (which I did) is enough to immerse into the experience. I highly recommend hiking up to Dorogawa on the way there along the Mitarai Valley Hiking Trail!

As one of the oldest ryokan in the Dorogawa hot-spring area, Hanaya Tokubei has a history of over 500 years. The Japanese-style rooms provide Japanese yukata robes and guests can relax in the indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths. Guest can take a 80-minute public bus ride from Shimoichiguchi Train Station to Dorogawa Onsen Bus Stop, which is a 10-minute walk away.

The owner is very friendly and made us felt very welcome. The place has been renovated and is clean and comfortable. The food is very good and what you can expect of a good ryokan. Onsen is very comforting. As the place is small, there is no need to fight for place in onsen.

Dorogawa is a great place to visit. I thought the ryokan was lovely and onsen baths relaxing. The staff were all nice and helpful. Breakfast was also enjoyable with a filling Japanese style breakfast.

The camp was in a beautiful location next to a tranquil running river. The upstairs tatami futon sleeping was a big hit with the kids and the fully equipped kitchen made cooking easy. The heating worked well for the colder nights.

Our hosts were extremely hospitable. Upon hearing that we were heading to a nearby ryokan, our host offered to drive us over for free (and refused the cash we pulled out of our wallets multiple times). The food was amazing as well!

A traditional onsen ryokan in a quaint mountain village. Our room was lovely and much larger than expected. The kotatsu was a great addition and we used it often. We had a room with a private bath, definitely worth the extra cost. The food was the best meal I had the entire trip, I was so full by the end I could barely get back to my room. The staff were so kind and one person even spoke excellent English. My only regret was that we didn’t stay longer

The ryokan overall was beautiful and our room was amazing! The onsen were lovely too. The staff were so helpful and did anything they could to make sure we had a great stay. They drove us to and picked us up from the trail head that we hiked and at dinner they insisted on driving us to the restaurant that we were dining at, because it was raining, even though the restaurant was quite close by. So caring!

What an incredible ryokan! Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious and the room was very comfortable with my own toilet adjacent to my room; only the onsen/shower is shared. Right in the centre of town - an easy walk from the bus stop but they provide a shuttle service if you need it.
