The kaiseki dinner is very nice. Breakfast spread was good and varied.
The onsen facilities in ryokan is very good, especially the open air bath area. The sand bath option is unusual, and the foot bath avail is nice too.
Even as the staff mostly cannot speak english well, they were very helpful and assisted to their best efforts. The shop in lobby level is interesting with things to purchase.

Very clean. Good service. Cosy public bath..they had private bath which needed reservations..
Meals were very good.....location is beautiful. In the middle of the mountains....
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The spa, onsen and rooftop pool overlooking the beach were excellent. The room was large and so confortable and I loved the balcony overlooking the beach. The hotel has bikes to hire and a shuttle for train station drop off and pick up. A brilliant stay, loved it.
We were touched by the exceptional quality of the service and kindness. The ryokan is a lovely building well situated for visiting the castle, the early Meiji villa’s and the pottery shops. The breakfast and dinner were of excellent quality.
Everything. The cute and comfy yukata. The traditional Japanese style room had a nice retro vibe, with a traditional low table and sliding doors separating the main room from the small one with the river view. The public bath was spacious and clean. The lounge had a great variety of drinks and snacks.
The experience in the traditional Japanese style ryokan was amazing. We arrived before check in. They welcomed us even we arrived early. The room was in 1st floor name of 'Genkai'. The room was able to open the large window that make us see the lovely garden.
Even though it was rain during our staying, the garden was enough to enjoy for a night.
The dinner and breakfast are so so nice.
Me and my friend absolutely fall in love to yoyokaku.
I want to say thank you for staffs of yoyokaku and really look forward to next our visit.
It was perfect. Peaceful, calm, quiet. It was a snowy day in January and the Ryokan was kept warm. The staff is so kind and helpful! Breakfast was incredible and the dining room overlooking the gardens was so nice. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable compared to other Ryokans we have stayed in.
There isn’t a single complaint we have! We will stay again!
This was probably the best Ryokan that we stayed at during one month in Japan. We had a car but it was an easy 20 minute walk into town. The building is beautiful & we loved the pine tree garden (thank you to the retired owner for showing us around the garden & sharing his passion). The breakfast was delicious & all the staff were so helpful & attentive, with excellent recommendations for eating out. We would have liked to have stayed longer .....
The hotel is close to Higashi-Karatsu station. The room had 2 single beds and a tatami area that would look out to the ocean. Very large and nice room.
