The hotel and room interior feels luxurious and spacious. Our hotel room (Japanese style and private onsen) had a very nice ocean view, that you can also enjoy on the ground floor and during the buffet style breakfast. So far it was our best stay in Japan. The breakfast has also English labelled information available and a good variety.

Traditional Japanese rooms with Onsen (not the type you see in the magazine). The outdoor Onsen is facing the sea so you get impressive view from there. Many families and friends here, not so many solo travellers (it must be really sad to stay at an Onsen hotel alone like me lol). Good hygiene and hospitality.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were fantastic!! Staff also were exceptional and kind. The "big" onsen on the 7th floor is amazing and I loved the view from our room. The futon were more comfortable than other futons that ryoukans had provided
Lovely staff! Also very pleasantly surprised by my spacious tatami room, and the futon was comfortable. Overall feels like you're staying at your (japanese) grandma's :) Who lives conveniently close to the main train station!
so beautiful, impeccably clean. wonderful breakfast spread. plush and luxe tatami beds. amazing private AND public onsen. they even had yukata you could borrow and a pillow bar! what’s not to love? right next to the ocean in the april chill.
Warm and friendly staff; spacious, Japanese traditional room and the futon was comfortable to sleep on. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food was great (e.g., seasonal hairy crab, free flow ikura). The onsen was relaxing.
It is an old style Japanese ryokan. Quite far from downtown. Must have car. Nearer to highway entrance. Free flow of champagne, coffee and ice-cream is good. Nice lobby. Nice outdoor onsen.
Location - just a few steps from the JR train station. Super convenient.
Room - size was large for Japanese standard. Well laid out and bed was comfortable.
Breakfast - large and varied spread featuring fresh, great quality Hokkaido produce. They offered a limited quantity of non-homogenised fresh milk which was super creamy and yummy, not to be missed.
Service - excellent from reception to breakfast and room service.
Onsen - large natural hot spring water with a great atmosphere of a traditional onsen.
The Satos were amazing hosts and we enjoyed starting each of our 3 days with coffee and a chat with them. While we were staying in their home, we never felt like we were intruding on their space, nor they ours. Everything was very clean and comfortable (even as Westerners sleeping on futon/tatami....we got our best sleep of the trip here!).
