The hot spring is good! We enjoyed the hot spring facilities, wearing yukata and the dinner spread is acceptable. It is very near to the beautiful Shirahige waterfalls. Shuttle bus is provided from the Biei Station - just remember to pre book with the hotel.

We had an amazing stay in Ryounkaku! The rather remote location is perfect to start your hike bright and early in the morning and discover the wonders of Mount Tokachi! The rooms were classic Japanese style, with tatami and futon beds. It was large and we had a nice view of the mountain. The onsen is great! Water flowing directly from the mountain, super hot! The outdoor bath is great. Finally, dinner was stunning! We didn’t expect something so nice, but it was plenty of fresh fish, prepared in many different ways, simply delicious! The owners were very nice!

Very central to Asahikawa's main food, shopping, night life and train station. The family running it are very helpful, speak some English, and even give you a map. The tatami room was very classic.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
The quadruple room had good views over the pleasant garden in front and a nice interior eg detailed wooden panneling.
The host was welcoming and showed us around.
Most comfortable sleep we've had on futons as they instructed us to use 2 futons. We'd previously woken up with sore backs from sleeping on single futons!
Breakfast was an array of very small portions of: fish, sausage, yoghurt, salad, cooked courgette, potato. The dining area was decorated very quaintly.
Great experience of Japanese style hotel that have original cultural bed and room, dinner and breakfast incude onsen public bath. From hotel can walk about 200 m.to see shirahige waterfaĺl
I wish I could have stayed longer at Yumoto Onsen Hotel. It is classy but also comfortable, a great combination for relaxation.
I particularly liked the sitting in the outdoor onsen at night surrounded by rock and snow, soaking in volcanic water listening to the blue Shirogane Waterfall, magical!

the onsen, having Japanese style dinner, able to get into Japanese tradition of dining by wearing Yukata, the room is adorable, a traditional Japanese room with Tatami floor and a futon chairs and bed
it was very close to the waterfall site and the blue pond. we love the traditional futon beds and dinner and breakfast. parking was free. the onsen was good too.
