The view from the Onsen was fenomenal even if it was nighttime when we got into. Also, they switch men and women Onsen everyday twice a day so you can enjoy both the upper side and the basement. Self service dinner is simply delicious, at least for what concerns the Japanese part. The structure is huge and it has many amenities. The room we were assigned to was huge.
Located at the shore of Lake Akan, Hotel Gozensui offers Japanese-style rooms with amazing lake or mountain views. The hotel features public natural hot spring baths and free WiFi.

Very friendly staff, traditional room is old but big and has everything, comfortable. Through the window of the room can see the Lake. In the morning within breakfast, one deer was eating the tree leaves outside.

Onsen is good. Close to Akan lake cruise and Akan Ainu. Buffet breakfast and dinner are up to standard
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Overall stay was excellent. Loved the river views, onsen and meals. A great spot for a one night stay between Lake Toya & Shiretoko. Nice to have wild deer grazing outside in evening and even spotted a fox by the river.
La Vista was such a beautiful location just outside of Akan Onsen. The rooms were calm and spacious with an amazing outlook over the river. The food was outstanding as well
Nice view of the lake and mountain
Japanese style room has sofa and table area, in addition to tatami for 3 adults
Breakfast is good , with varies choices
Big hotel with massive onsen
The hotel is right at the lake with a Showa era flair to it. The tatami room with the lake view was comfortable and the onsen bath was a welcome relaxation after my hike. The staff was very friendly.
The room is large. We slept well on tatami mats which is comfortable and cozy. The onsen is all right. Buffet dinner and breakfast is great, good fresh variety.
Fantastic ryokan overlooking the lake. We had a huge room with a private onsen and fabulous floor to ceiling lake views from the windows. (It is worth paying extra for the lake view.) The room was spotless and so well equipped, the staff were all friendly and helpful. Dinner was exceptional and served in a private dining room. It was an amazing experience.
The ryokan was very close to the bus station, so it was easy to reach without a car. We used the bus from Kitami and the local bus to Kushiro Station.
One of the most unique experiences I've had - an exceptional stay, starting from the location next to Lake Akan, the tatami floor in the room and the wagashi offered, the rich and varied breakfast and dinner, the marvellous onsen and the lovely staff. The hotel is also decorated with magnificent Ainu culture symbols.
Love the onsen a lot. The japanese tatami room was very pretty. The buffet dinner and breakfast was superb! It's located just next to the lake. Overall very good stay!!
Best place in Hokkaido! Breakfast and Buffet Dinner included: great choices of Japanese, Chinese and Western food. Fresh food and high level choices. Lakeside view during meals. Great Onsen, friendly staff, shuttle to parking area fast and upon request. Big rooms, nice tatami styles, 5 people come for daily room cleaning at once and job is done so quickly, get as much drinking water as you need, afternoon can eat free Hokkaido potatoes, nice art exhibition area from woodwork, close to Ainu village, very friendly tour desk.
