We had some dietary restrictions but the staff went above and beyond for us to accommodate this. We received very delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. The facilities of the hotel were maintained well and were easy to use. We had two queen size beds and a big room for us which felt like a luxury. Location of the hotel for our trip through the Kiso valley was also perfect. It was quiet all around the hotel and the onsen was the perfect temperature- great for relaxation after busy days in Tokyo.

Absolutely everything! This is an older hotel but don’t let that deter you, it really is such an authentic experience. The onsen was epic, we only had breakfast but it was massive and phenomenal, the staff were so friendly and kind, our room was huge and we loved the traditional style. If you’re passing through Kiso valley take the time to stay it is worth it.

I did not realize when booking this was closer to a traditional ryoken than hotel room. It was an unexpected joy! The onsen was wonderful and the room was so interesting. I'm thrilled we got to have this experience staying here. We ate at the sitting table, set up our beds, and walked on the traditional flooring. Again absolutely unexpected and wonderful! And the room was huge which was great for four people.
