Just how wonderfully it had been restored with up to date comforts and amazing en-suite with super cool barn doors and sash windows you can open!!! We slept like babies in the bed after a lovely meal in the restaurant and woke up refreshed before having showers to our next stop - will definitely recommend to everyone and eat/stay again. Thanks for a lovely stay x

With free on-site parking and free Wi-Fi access for all guests, it also offers a bar and a restaurant. Beautiful country setting. The rooms are spotless and very well appointed. Very comfortable bed. Locals frequent the local pub and the was great. Particularly convenient for guest going to weddings / functions at Leez Priory.

Fantasic hotel. The staff were lovely and the room was beautiful. We received a free upgrade to a Suite and the staff left a welcoming “Happy Anniversary “ cake in the room! Excellent breakfast too. We will return. Highly recommended
The room decor and the finishing that we had view to our car and and we was ver comfortable in our room the chair was a good size for a bigger person and the bed was excellent nice and soft and squishy my partner struggles but it was brilliant. But for mini honeymoon it was lovely and quiet and relaxing and staff was amazing 👏 Would highly recommended this pub if you drive Five Bell pub
Was upgraded to a superior room with balcony which was a lovely treat. The room was comfortable with good views. A ceiling fan and cooler unit were also in the room which was great for a hot summers day. A full choice at breakfast and lots of places to sit and relax around the hotel. A nice ambience overall and would stay again.
Beautiful shepards hut, very well equipped. Heather went the extra mile to help us celebrate our honeymoon. Perfect spot for relaxing and the hot tub is lovely. Great views across the fields at the back and doesn't feel overlooked at all. Ducks are just the cutest and really made our stay special. The hut is fab and even though its naturally a small space everything is so well thought out. We loved it!
Lovely character hotel. It was our anniversary and they very kindly upgraded us to a suite. Wonderful, down to earth staff. Great Essex hospitality.
Lovely, friendly and helpful host, made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The morning breakfast was lovely and lots to choose from. We loved the jacuzzi and overall a very relaxing stay, nice and quiet and we were close enough by car to travel to Colchester and other seaside towns were close by in the car.
The decor was stunning, Location was quiet and private, lovely and clean, very comfortable and Damien was so helpful, accommodating and quick with responses to any questions we had. I'm very glad we followed his recommendation to eat at the red lion...food was incredible! The property is very romantic for couples and also spacious outside for children. I loved it there so much, that we decided to stay an extra night. So relaxing and peaceful.
Everything about this hotel was fantastic the bed was super comfortable it was our anniversary and was upgraded to the signature suite which was super clean the breakfast was lovely will definitely be going back to stay again next year.
We stay here every year for our wedding anniversary because it’s such a lovely place. This year though we were given a complimentary room upgrade and WOW it was amazing! The room was huge, the bathroom had underfloor heating and it just made our entire experience even better. We book Le Talbooth for dinner each year and the courtesy car that takes you too and from the hotel is an excellent touch. Breakfast is gorgeous too!
The decor of the hotel was lovely, the room sizes were perfect and there was an excellent breakfast included. Upgraded to a premium room with a balcony and jacuzzi bathtub!
