Our 15 spacious, en-suite rooms have recently been refurbished and most offer exquisite views of South Somerset. We have an on-site restaurant and a bar with an open roaring log fire providing various meal options and a relaxed atmosphere.

Zoey. Shower nozzles. Location. Breakfast. Waiter. My number one like is Zoey. She is the BEST representative of a hotel I've encountered (and I'm 81). Having hired, trained, and overseen hundreds of employees in my career, I can tell you that I've never encountered a better overall member of a staff. Her personality is truly exceptional. I have no idea what her salary is, but I can assure you that she's underpaid. I had a choice of a rain shower and hand-held - in the same shower! Breakfast was the best I've been offered in a hotel. Cooked to order, with a wide variety of delicious foods. Admittedly, I've never stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, but I'd bet the breakfast is no better there. Lastly, the waiter (sorry I didn't ask his name) was exceptional...very attentive without being overbearing. He moves quickly and efficiently, with a charming personality to boot. The time we spent at the King's Arms was worth the highest rating possible! BTW, I have never been there before, I do not know the owners,, I have no affiliation with this hotel, and I have never spent this much time writing a review. I live in the U.S., and I just loved my experience.at the King's Arms.

To reflect its rich heritage, the Helyar Arms aims to provide a rustic and relaxed atmosphere, with traditional entertainment in the form of a skittle alley, an inviting open log fire in the beamed bar and locally sourced home-cooked food, prepared to order. In the warmer months you can also enjoy a drink in the pleasant garden.

Everything was fantastic. Food really good breakfast and especially evening meal great value as well. Staff were very friendly and accomodating.

We stayed on the 10th June 2024 as a last minute booking. Staff were lovely and friendly. The food was exceptional, well presented, and very tasty. Lovely outside area to sit and relax. A very warm welcome from the Manager Wayne and the bar staff was lovely.

The bungalow is in a prime position with far reaching views, it’s very comfortable and modern and everything you need for a perfect stay is there especially a relaxing hot tub. Meeting the hosts and being introduced to their horses was a hi light. The local village of Castle Carey is a 5 minute drive away with numerous shops and a couple of decent coffee shops. This short stay was perfect ending to a holiday in the West Country. We will definitely return.

The views are lovely, the hot tub was a blessing for our aching muscles from the ncies walks. Lovely local towns to visit and lots of time just relaxing in the house. Was a good set up with everything you need to cook in the kitchen.

Excellent place, very peaceful, stuff polite. I was surprised by that price. It was an amazing bundle. Also, they could not provide one room with a double bed and sofa bed, so they offered us instead 2 double rooms, which satisfied me even more. Nice view outside, next to hotel small river, birds singing, very quiet and peaceful. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to relax from busy cities. Continental breakfast had lovely fresh pastries, homemade, and delicious coffee

The staff were really welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and well equipped. There was a lovely lounge with lots of comfy sofas to relax in. Our dining experience was fantastic and the service top notch even though the bar and restaurant were full. We all had a wonderful stay.

Granted we were upgraded to the bridal room, but for that, we got a four poster bed, huge TV, underfloor heating in the bathroom, a jacuzzi bath and a huge multi-jet shower. Absolutely spoilt. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, and the breakfast was lovely.
