In the centre of Patterdale Village, the hotel is within easy reach of leisure activities, including water sports, lakeside walks, pony treks and climbing. Keswick and Ambleside are both within 15 miles.

It was the perfect location for our hikes and had everything we needed. The food was delicious (we booked the dinners every day and enjoyed the breakfast buffet), especially the options/adjustments for my food allergy (GF).

The Inn On The Lake offers stylish en suite rooms with freeview TV, free WiFi and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms have striking mountain and lake views.

Thank you to Daniel, who waited at reception and made me a sandwich when I arrived after midnight on the first night, delayed due to traffic. This set the tone for the entire stay. The breakfast was fabulous, as was dinner. The friendliness and genuine tone of the staff was heartwarming. Everything was spot on, everyone was welcoming, the service was outstanding. I recommend the Inn on The Lake to everyone! It is a home from home and I'll be back!

Fantastic place. I reached early, and they were very kind to not only give me my room but also upgrade my room to a lake view room. Dale also helped me carry my luggage to the room. The room was warm , neat, and had very good linen. I was happy to sit by the lake and enjoyed the views.

The breakfast was the best full english I have ever had at a B&B; the bacon was crispy, all the food was hot, the egg was delicious. We had a lovely welcome, the staff were so nice, and we were shown around the whole B&B. We could put our wet jackets and shoes in the shower room and then we got some books from the library to have a read. The place was very clean and we fully relaxed the moment we got here.

Crookabeck was outstanding and ticked all our boxes. it’s a stunning property and after more than 3 weeks staying at B&B’s all over Great Britain, Crookabeck stood above all others for us despite staying at some stunning properties. We had the luxury of our own lovely little lounge that made us feel right at home. Adam and Julia were just awesome hosts. if you’re in the area, this is the place to stay.
