Rated a 5-star inn by the AA, the 600-year-old Crown Inn combines traditional character with modern room luxuries, including flat-screen TVs and DVD players.

Staff went above and beyond during a busy Mother's Day weekend to ensure we had a comfortable stay in this wonderful historic building. The food and service was excellent, the bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.

Set in the beautiful South Downs, in the heart of Hampshire, Champneys is an exclusive spa hotel with tranquil grounds and an innovative restaurant. The spa offers world-class therapists and luxury treatments.

The secluded woodland resort features the famous Champneys Spa, which boasts a swimming pool, spa pools and steam rooms. Guests can enjoy bespoke therapies, or relax in the outdoor pool.

The Buffet at breakfast was very good with a variety of choice. however, I do think that teas and coffees should be served in teapots and coffee containers instead of self service. It would also be nice for toast to be served instead of having to wait in line to use the toaster.

The location, the upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The young woman at reception was very helpful. After an intitial mistake she was more than kind to put things right and even to upgrade my room which was a delightful treat. I can’t remark on the dining because I barely used it but the breakfast spread looked wonderful and the views from the lovely dining room were very beautiful.
