Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

New ZealandNothing, had an issue with the fairy lights outside being quite bright that made it hard to sleep as the blinds were not blackout. Managed to get this sorted though for the rest of the trip.
Clean, comfortable stay with all the amenities needed for a weekend trip. Nice furnishings and decorations to make it feel homely. The area was nice and safe, and easy to walk to the main street.

Very clean and neat, also has a private outdoor sitting area. Communication was timely and clear, with willing help from Fiona.

United KingdomThe area felt absolutely safe but we locked the garden gate with the padlock each and every time we went out (was locked on arrival) which we were not sure was always necessary.
Clear emailed instructions from the host both at check-in and check-out, unfortunately we did not have the chance to meet up. The elegant decor and personal touches in the studio. It was in a quiet location 10 minutes walk from the centre of Franschhoek and everyone we met en route were friendly and said 'hello'. Perfectly equipped for our needs.

We stayed in the apartment with the terrace which was beautifully furnished and had everything we required. The bed was really comfortable and we appreciated the mini kitchen with tea, coffee and biscuits. The bathroom was huge with a lovely bath as well as a walk-in shower. We enjoyed sitting outside and admiring the garden with the scent of lavender. It was very peaceful - perfect for a relaxing stay.
