Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We really enjoyed our stay. We had a spectacular view from our room, which was also very spacious and clean. Gam the host is absolutely the best. She rally helped us to get around Pu Luong, plan our trips, book bus/taxi.. The food was also really good and in very decent price. Highly recommended!

AustraliaNothing material.
Outstanding and very highly recommended. Four generation family who are all very friendly and helpful. Gam gave us a brilliant tour of the village which included a visit to her grandmothers home, covered local flora and fauna and gave great insight into local life. Service is first class - great communication, valuable tips for what to see on the way to and from Puluong. Breakfasts are very tasty and healthy portions. Evening meals also a standout - huge range for a four bedroom home stay and very good quality. We will be suggesting this Homestay to all that come to this wider area. Photo is view from balconies of all four rooms.

BelgiumNothing :)
Gam and her family are very welcoming and make you feel like you are part of their lovely family. As mentioned in the previous reviews, the food is really delicious. We recommend the fresh spring rolls, however, we would recommend every dish we´ve had! We spend two nights in a big and clean room, with a big shower and a fantastic view on the rice terraces. The swimming pool, shared with the homestay next door, is a really nice refreshment. The first day we did a 10,5 km hike in the neighborhood through the jungle and to the weaving village. The second day we rented a scooter to drive to old water mills. Thank you for having us. We would love to come back one day!

SpainWhat a lovely time we had. The view from the rooms is breathtaking! With a lovely balcony. There is also a pool to relax by. Gam and her family were amazing hosts! So attentive and kind. We felt so welcomed and taken care of. The food that they prepare was some of the best we have had during our Vietnam travels. I recommend taking Gam as your guide for the day, you see lovely spots and learn loads. Can’t recommend this place enough, we will definitely be back!

United KingdomWe were blown away by our experience at Puluong Aroma. This is a truly authentic homestay where you will interact with and learn from a kind and caring family, with 4 generations living together in the homestay. We originally booked for three nights but extended our stay and wish we could have extended for longer! The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with a large balcony that has an amazing view of the rice fields. It is unique to find a homestay that only has two rooms (with a third currently being built). This makes the experience more intimate and personal and allows ample opportunity to interact with Gam, the host and her family. Gam and her husband are incredible chefs. We ate all of our meals at the Homestay out of choice because the food was so amazing. Genuinely some of the best food we have eaten in Vietnam. Gam also provides complimentary tea from the tea plant grown in her garden and bananas. Gam has excellent English and amazing knowledge of the local area which she is very happy to share and can also act as a guide if needed. Gam will arrange whatever you need during your stay including motorbikes and transport to your next stop. She is exceptionally welcoming and caring and will really make you feel at home throughout your stay. We have been travelling for over 3 months and Puluong Aroma is one of the real highlights of our travels. We were very sad to leave and hope to return again in the future. If you are looking for an authentic homestay experience in a beautiful location with exceptional hospitality, this is it!

NetherlandsGam is such a good host. She tells you her stories of the land, the culture, the history, the nature, etc. She has a lot to tell and makes tours exactly how you want it. She speaks English very well and does everything to make you feel comfortable without being pushy. If you want to have a real good experience and see and feel authentic Vietnam, you should definitely visit this Homestay with it’s new clean rooms with astonishing views.

NetherlandsThe main entrance to the property is still being devolved, that needs certain attention.
The location, view, hospitality of the family and most of all options to speak with the owner about everything what interested us. She is a teacher, knowledgeable and very attentive to your needs. The room is clean and Has the fantastic view directly from your bed. We could use the pool from the neighbors which is lovely. On top of that Mrs Gum and her husband are an excellent chefs and we had dinner there every day as the price and quality ( as well as quantity) was unbeatable. We could see how this family of 7 ( 4 generations) lives in harmony and learn about their culture. Children are quiet and don’t disturb if you don’t want to interact, we enjoyed one evening of games with 9 year old. English is not widely spoken in the area so we were really lucky here.

BelgiumAfter 2 weeks of travel through Vietnam, this was our favourite experience. Gam and her family make you feel welcome as of the moment you arrive. You get a glimpse into the lives of this local Thai family living with 4 generations in a stilt house while having your own privacy in your room. Gam speaks very good English and is happy to share about her culture or guide your around. This homestay opened 3 months ago and has 2 large comfortable rooms with a balcony and magnificent views over the rice paddies. Everything is new, so the aircon and hot water worked perfectly. These are built next to their stilt house. I think they are saving up to build a third room in the future. As a guest, you may use the nice large swimming pool next door which you can easily access through a narrow path. We had breakfast and dinner here during our 2 night stay and enjoyed it very much. Both the grilled fish and steamed fish in bamboo were delicious, with a small preference for the grilled fish. We absolutely loved our stay here and cannot recommend it strongly enough!

United KingdomNothing we didn’t like - just would be great maybe to add a couple more lounge chairs near the pool and comfy chairs on the balcony to read/chill.
Nam and her family have done an amazing job at building two new units next to their traditional tai family house on silts, with a beautiful view overlooking the hills and rice terraces. The room itself is comfy with everything you need including a balcony. You have access to the next door’s guesthouse swimming pool which is big enough to swim and refreshing. There re a few hiking trails you can go on from the homestay either with the family or by yourselves - we used AllTrails and worked well. The breakfast was really good and big, you could choose the night before amongst a few options which is nice and we had dinner with quite a few options from cheaper (but still very good) soups/noodles to more elaborate meals that are big enough to share - everything was delicious. Nam and the family were really nice and welcoming and it was great to spend some time with them. I can only highly recommend it!
